HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
Usage: paste into Powershell, run.

You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal

I built up a new fresh computer and I'm trying to be better with file organization for my creative projects (Blender, After Effects, Photoshop, etc). What I used to do was have two big folders (one for Blender, one for everything else) on my desktop for each program and organize projects, resources, etc in folders within those folders. Kind of chaotic but it makes sense to me.
Couple of questions. Does having that stuff on my desktop instead of a different directory make things slower? So in last thread there was a frogposter asking about using Linux as main system, dual booting a windows installation on a second drive.
I did that and I'm having a lot of trouble with it. I set it all up, it loaded into grub like it should etc. but the next day it stopped working. Not booting with no signal to monitor and boot LED on, removing the windows drive makes it work again but being unable to access the bios I can't even change the load order or anything...
From the brief time I had it working I moved the Linux drive on top but I think it reverted back to windows on top after checking again.

control panel is obsolete
also it is interesting to see utf8 support
Where do UWP apps store their window size and position? No registry values are set when manipulating window, upon closing app there's something set to \REGISTRY\A, which I googled but don't understand.
>>106210637After the chatgpt-5 debacle, what do you think is the best llm for free users? I tried gemini free and it's pretty nice. The other day I found out it can generate quizzes for you, too!

>>106188955what are the advantages of this over the built in browser download manager?
>>106188955why not just use jdownloader?
yeah, I might need to downgrade back to win10
as far as general performance goes, there's pretty much no difference between 10 and 11
even the slow downs, laggy file explorer and other things people report so much aren't true on my machine, I'm not autistic enough to be able to notice if it is 1% slower or 1% faster
but I'm noticing a considerable amount of screen flickering when alt tabbing during heavy use, some screen tearing and "freezing" (alt tabbed but need a mouse click to actually show the next screen)
just going to clean install my stinkpad's graphic drivers first and observe a little longer
i was eager to use 10 iot ltsc but cant install some programs i read OP post about doing it in cmd, idk if i write the exe filename to run it silently? but just ended up going back to pro version. I think the ltsc edition is for headless servers or something.

thanks for existing. decided to switch to w11, great to have access to legit dls, easy activation, etc. up and running smooth

>>106186408 (OP)Nvidia dropping driver support for Windows 10 late next year is where I start to worry
>>106209781>>106210365Sorry guys, I w
as high on meth and sleep deprived. The blue screen wasn't BSOD but a recovery menu thing. It had text like "ESC to go back to uefi" "F1 to try reboot"
It really did take 40 minutes though. Probably my shitty asrock mobo which automatically tries to download all drivers on first setup.
But it actually installed correctly and booted after a restart. So I just upgraded some firmware and wiped the drive afterwards. and my bios now has a better looking font too! But w11 is still as shitty as I remember. Takes half a second to open menus, taskbar still unmovable. Also there's copilot in the LTSC edition too KEK. Microsoft shills are okay with and will defend this.
>>106205744Based and Clippypilled!
>>106207834Satia...
>>106218057I wouldn't worry as they are making shitty drivers for a long time, not at the level of Radeon but still...
>>106218768I haven't updated my Nvidia drivers in a long time, but a future Nvidia sponsored game may really really need the day 0 game ready driver and in that case I will be fucked
>>106210647If you declare it in your manifest you get native utf8 for narrow page APIs for free. Enabling systemwide is how you break shit. I have seen a lot of flies get corrupted by that setting.
>>106218791Not really anon, some drivers work well with old Windows versions.
Especially because WIndows 11 and 10 are almost the same on that level. But, we'll see...
>>106212834Gemini Pro is usually the leader on most LLM battleground leaderboard sites, followed by the o3/o4 variants of ChatGPT.
>>106213389Same for me and now im undecisive of putting 10 pro back on or 11 pro cause i know the end of life thing is 3 years but time goes fast. I read more on that ltsc thing it can be used for headless machines whereas server edition is essentially for servers. Both of them i wouldnt recommend for your daily driver. The ltsc/server doesnt seem any different when i was benchmarking a few games i owned so yeah just using whatever works for now.
>>106209736>I suspect this is a windows setting/issueYou are correct: Windows hasn't allowed blank passwords for ANYTHING but local console logon (by default) since Vista.
>I have the gpedit setting limit blank passwords for local account to console onlyThat is only for RDP logons, not anything else.
The only suggestion I have is to try a diferent SSH client that doesn't obey Windows' password requirements.
>>106213389>ltsc edition is for headless serversSorta, but no. It's an "embedded" edition, and while server is a type of embedded role, and LTSC can be used as a rough-and-ready server, it has (artificial) limitations that a proper Windows Server SKU doesn't.
In reality, LTSC is meant for things like ATMs, medical equipment, POS terminals etc., where it's stripped-down nature and low-impact update policy can shine.
I would like to be able to move windows with Windows Key + left click and resize them with windows key + middle click. What is the best way to accomplish this?
>>106220029I just wrote a 20-line program in my head that would do that: it works by listening for NCCLICK messages, checks the status of modifier keys (though I'm not certain you'd be able to use the Windows key, Ctrl, Alt etc. would be fine) and taps on DefWindowProc to make the window think you've selected Move or Size from the window's System menu.
I have no idea if anyone's ever written something remotely like this, however.
>>106220029maybe autohotkey?

Active fork of AltDrag. Defaults to Alt hotkeys by default, but can be configured to use Windows keys instead.
You can also reassign mouse functions so that window resizing will work with MMB instead of RMB by default.

Does 4chan X work on the latest Chrome? I've seen anons complaining it's broken, is it fixable
>>106222416IIRC it's because userscript managers like Violentmonkey/Greasemonkey don't work with MV3 properly.

Anyone know how to check my current ClearType settings so I can apply the same exact options to a new PC?
Or the same font rendering options in general, W10 just seems to have ass font rendering no matter what I do (feels like I tried everything with both ClearType and MacType), whereas I don't even remember having to adjust it on my old W8.1
>>106223208>basically the only good Chromium browser leftungoogled
chromium
>>106223217Does it keep MV2?
>>106223216>Anyone know how to check my current ClearType settings so I can apply the same exact options to a new PC?Registry contains font rendering configuration (HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop):
https://github.com/bp2008/BetterClearTypeTuner/wiki/ClearType-Investigations
Additionally there are font rendering settings that pertain to WPF applications (which the desktop composition part of Windows may or may not use them, also): {HKCU|HKLM}\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics
Wild guess - is that a (QD-)OLED display you're using for the new PC? ClearType was made with LCDs in mind, by the way.
>>106218861The Windows 11 requirement slowly crawling into the game world is pure BS, more political than some kind of genuine software need.
Pure faggotry.
>>106224963Every computer made in the last 8 years can run 11 officially, every computer made in the last 17 can run it unofficially.
TL;DR: Sorry you're poor dude.
is tiny10 a meme? dont care about the potential security risks, im just looking for a windows 10 iso thats relatively debloated by default so i dont have to spend hours removing all the aids microsoft has kindly gifted me with the install (even ltsc has a lot of bloat)
>>106225086There hasn't been any backlash against Tiny10/Tiny11 really.
Tiny11 also recently dropped a version of itself that uses 25H2 as the backend which is cool.
