I don't understand the hate on GPT5. The quality isn't quite up to Opus levels but I've found it to be better than Gemini Pro and v3/r1. On par with sonnet 3.7 in some cases and significantly cheaper. Not to mention I rarely get any refusals.

I've updated the card to replace the Main Prompt (stock main prompt with any {{char}} reference confuses the LLM. I also made what I thought would be a minor change (locking the values the LLM is "allowed" to set Devotion and Trust.) This had a bigger than antipated impact: railroading the LLM on definitions slowed down how fast training progresses. It also allowed me to define "mindbreak" which curtails some training options.

bigger models have features like logit bias to forbid or encourage certain tokens, then you have sampling hyperparameters to fuck around with, but the logit bias just has a way too specific effect on the output, and hyperparameters have a way too vaguely defined effect. And they adhere very strictly to the structure they know the best. It's not just about getting the output you want — it's about getting the output you didn't know you wanted.
