I guess the point is that the chart is being misused. It may have been a "chart" just showing performance samples from various people and their PCs, nothing is controlled because its not meant to compare individual components.

The 5700X is still pretty damn capable in a vacuum but with something like a 5070Ti / 9070XT it might start holding them back a little bit, especially in CPU heavy titles. When the 4080 and 7900XTX released, cards with a very similar level of raw performance, TPU also tested them with a 5800X on top of their usual 13900K testbench and they did lose out on some performance
You can still definitely upgrade the card, and maybe look around for decent deals on new or used 5700X3Ds / 5800X3Ds

so theres like 2 games there that aren't terrible if you're into them. 3 because i hear indiana jones is 'good'. They also all play just fine with memetracing on minimum.

Once again, a friendly reminder to all the bootlicking Njudean shill-tards that memetracing never needed to exist in the first place, lighting engines should still have remained something that game engine designers should have had total control over, and is purely a dev-cost cutting exercise that allows for drag and drop lighting assets at the cost of a massive framerate and stability drop. It also forces both AMD and Njudea to sacrifice valuable silicon real estate on the gpu chip to dedicate to memetracing cores when it could be giving us better rasterisation and compute power instead. This is as true now as when we were first exposed to it via the 2000 series of cards.

Njudea is a cancerous blight upon gaming and so is memetracing and its cult of buyers remorse shills. Also lol @ your lack of foreskins.

Shut up
Heavy RT is viable on mid range cards now, there's no reason every game shouldn't be pushing it as hard as they can.
>>106194701
Go try it yourself.
Go into cyberpunk/silent hill2/ any other game with heavy use of rt lighting or path tracing but without ray reconstruction at an internal resolution that is 1080p or below (which is what a 9070/xt is realistically going to be doing).
Grain and pixel crawl out the ass.
Remember Q2RTX(2080ti couldn't hold 1080p60)? It's maybe only a little bit better than that.

well that explains why it kept forgetting and having to retrain my ram sticks, i thought it was the rams fault and was gonna go buy an EXPO-enabled ram set instead.

Anyone figured out how to get your towers rbg lighting to work on MSI without having to install their malware MSI Centre app? I tried a few third parties but they were all locked out at the hardware level due to MSI's kikery. Its still better than dealing with ASUS's giga-malware that survives new OS installs and almost all forms of deletion but that doesn't mean i like it.

retarded kike-shill take. Helldivers 2 has the best lighting engine for actual gaming, not staring at a wall/hallway and taking SS's, and they don't use memetracing at all.

Its a shitty gimmick for cost-cutting devs, nothing more. If the devs want to make a really nice lighting engine, they still can, if they're actually dedicated to it and white/korean/japanese men ofc.

because Njudea never cared about you?
there's plenty of reasons, their staff-share policy made a heap of their best code monkeys filthy rich in the last 5 years, so their best employees mostly just retired to live the good life.
They have been focusing on AI and the server/production market heavily because it makes way more money than you paypiggies want to give them, so their best remaining, non-shitskin code monkeys are mostly working on that, and of course, Winblows 11 is dogshit trash thanks to Microkikes legion of indian monkeys on keyboards writing the OS code, so even good coders will struggle to make functional drivers for winblows.

All these retarded newfags and njudea shills in pcbg probably don't even know what baking lights means. Games like Mirrors Edge from 2008 stills holds up today as one of the greatest looking games with pre baked lighting. You can make extremely realistic rasterized handcrafted lighting with pre baking. The only games that truly need raytracing are heavily dynamic open world games with day and night cycles and moving light sources. But nowadays lazy devs of linear games are using it even to save time and money.

It's usually about having a friend that has built one. Or it at least helps.
But as said. If you don't have one, with PCpartpicker etc it's easy to pick parts that work together. Then you find a youtube video or something to help you assemble.

One piece of advice I say every time is to not buy any sort of mini case. Get a mid/full tower, less to worry about with whether or not your surprisingly big CPU cooler or long GPU fit.
And basically whatever other parts you're thinking of getting, buy a 1440p monitor, it'll save you from disappointment.

Gigabyte mobo was innocent after all. Desperate, I took eraser to RAM contacts and blew half of duster can into the slots. The shit now works better than ever, I could never make it run 3600MHz 16-16-16-36 1.35V XMP on the old board. None of the Gear2 etc stuff is necessary anymore.

The next problem is I can't get any better DDR4 in my shithole so If I want to sell my old PC as a "prebuilt" (much higher chances of being bought) - I would have to order good kit online and wait month+ for it.

Don't overpay for it. Last year you could get the 5700X3D for like $150. I really wouldn't go anywhere above $200 at the absolute maximum for a 5000X3D chip.
The 5700X/5800X non 3D are still perfectly capable, I'm loving my 5700X with a 7800XT, but yeah with a beefier GPU you might start seeing some limitations especially in CPU heavy games. YMMV depending on what you play and do with your PC

Idk how people can cope and lie to themselves that the nvidia driver overhead isn't real and a serious problem for competitive games. 9070 XT only 9 fps behind the 5090 and better 1% lows. GeForce is clearly getting raped hard by the overhead in this game. Arc has 1% low stuttering issues for similar reasons likely.

the trickiest parts are;
>installing ram sticks
some motherboards have crazy stiff slots and you have to exert huge force to get them to actually seat correct, and if you slip or lose balance you could break the ram slot connector or the ram sticks themselves. Unlikely but requires serious focus to get right, 3/10 diff
>inserting cpu correctly
getting it to sit in the slot JUST right requires good eyesight and focus, if you wear glasses make sure you have them actually keyed into your current ocular degeneration level, screwing this up, and trying to seat a cooler on top and screwing it down, is a great way to damage your mobo and cpu. 6/10 diff first time
>installing AIO coolers
some are easier than others, the arguably best performer (i heard corsair, lian li and phanteks are on par or better tho) is arctic freezer III, which is awkward to install and get the wiring correct, and the instructions aren't super-clear. 3/10 diff, try not to scratch the copper plate by accident if you lose positioning
>flashing the bios
Unless you're buying a cpu that came out before the launch of the mobo you bought, you will need to flash the bios without a cpu installed 95% of the time. This process is fucking aids. Get ahold of at least a few different branded, and preferably older USB flash drives, no bigger than 32gig capacity, and load up the bios patch on them, it took me 4x different drives to find one that worked for my tomahawk x870, the one that shipped with the mobo itself, didn't work. Figuring out if its working or DOA is a matter of intuition, extensive research and massive patience half the time.

My advice? pick your parts and pay a ---local independent pc store with a retail outlet--- to assemble it for you for your first time, and assemble a whole new pc in 5 years time yourself, using the previous pc as a DL+testing hub to make sure the new parts work. You yanks dont seem to have many of these for some reason, too many globohomo megacorps ig.

Sorry if retard, but are USB slots added to my mobo via a pcie card worse/slower than the ones on my mobo's backplate? Obviously assuming they're all the same kind of usb.

I can imagine there's some kind of inteference from having to go through a pcie instead of being hardwired into the board itself.

CPU is 99% irrelevant when it comes to AI.
For AI, your main concern is going to be VRAM. And thanks to nvidia, you have to make sacrifices.
16GB on a 5070ti limits what models you can load, compared to 24GB on a 3090/4090. It also gives you more headroom for multitasking. You absolutely want 24GB, and a 3090 costs about the same as a 5070ti.
However, the 3090 is significantly worse than a 5070ti for gaming, and it's an old card so you miss out on things like fp8 with AI.
4090/5090 would be ideal, but you're paying double what you would for a 5070ti (minimum).

I'd check 3090 benchmarks for the games you want to play, and if it's good enough, go for that over the 5070ti.

if you want your pc to effortlessly mutlitask with browsers, games, various apps running in the background, groomercord etc, and not worry about cpu-bottlenecks, and you're not poor, the 9950x3d is your go-to.

That being said, its getting slightly long in the tooth at this point, there is an argument to wait for the 11800x3d. They're gonna be big upgrades with loads more cores.

I found someone willing to buy my used 7800 XT for $525. I was thinking of doing a slight downgrade to a 9060 XT card because it seems like AI upscaling and frame gen is going to be a big deal for demanding games in the future. It also helps that I managed to find an open box model from microcenter for $360 with tax included.

Is this a bad deal or should I just keep my 7800 XT? I run most games in 1440p but was thinking of pulling out my 1080p monitor as a 2nd monitor to make the 9060 XT more futureproof.

Should I swap my cards or just hold onto my 7800 XT? AMD still hasn't confirmed if FSR 4 is even coming to the 7000 series cards.

Given most people don't bother with multiple graphics cards anymore, I feel like full sized ATX in a full tower is kind of a waste from a performance standpoint. The only real advantage it gives you is working space in the case itself. For the vast majority of applications, mATX is better so long as you learn how to work within the space limits.

idk if this belongs here but I need a new PC for my HTPC set up and I'm on a tight budget (~200$).
If I just played videos I'd just get the cheapest thing I could find, but I've also been getting into emulation. Basically I'm looking for a budget mini PC with modern CPU extensions and good integrated graphics.

Stick to 24" 1080p or upgrade to 27" 1440p for gayming?
Specs below
>i5 14500, 32gb 5600 mt/s ram, RTX 5060 Ti 16gb
Last thing to upgrade is my ancient 24" FHD 60hz VA panel from 2011. I prob should have got the 5070 but since I'm used to 1080p am I better off getting a nicer 24" display for ~$100 and longevity out of the GPU or make the move to 1440p with the performance hit? Thanks

That's still $110 over for some extra RAM. This entire market is fucking retarded, and developers who fail to optimize where 16GB is required should probably be fired and blacklisted.

27" 1440p is popular for a reason
