Rich people will get richer, poor people will get poorer, and the quality of the few goods poor people can buy will drop.
That's what happens when the shareholders in every company are the same (Blackrock, Vanguard etc)
They just push for AI everywhere even if it's useless.
They just don't care. They only care about increasing the value of their stocks.
It's not like the consumer h

as a choice anymore and can go elsewhere.

I work in AI. Let me tell you something. LLMs are just a piece of the puzzle. The current bubble says nothing about the long term viability of AI. It's just that LLMs have become synonymous with AI to normies.

>The current bubble says nothing about the long term viability of AI

Nobody is claiming otherwise.

But when 40% of the US stock market is propped up by LLM hype, the bubble bursting could be a very bad thing.

Nobody rational can dispute that untethered anarcho-tech-capitalism is a liability. They're just going to have to learn the hard way. It's sad, because I think a much more tolerable form of AI is maybe 2-5 years away. This is AI that is explainable and controllable. But there's precisely zero money going to this research. All the money is going to the wrong ideas. It's cosmically ironic.

Maybe on paper. You try to turn that into actual billions you'll be the black swan event that the crypto community talks about forever. Right now crypto is holding because institutional investors are well in and stabilising it for every seller. But the market cap is a fiction based on the idea that all the coins are available for sale which they obviously aren't. Between the early wallets that basically exist to burn tokens and all the losses over the years, the actual trade is in small volumes off the top. But the market cap is based on total tokens * moving average sale price.

Yes. AI investment is bigger driver of US gdp then consumer demand. If US didnโ€™t have this bubble the economic stats would read like Great Depression.

The problem here is that LLMs can clearly count those letters even without code. They can spell out the word letter by letter then count those words. The problem however is that when you ask them to just write the number alone they wonโ€™t think of the smartest way to do that, or just smart way at all without you basically answering it for them. Itโ€™s like if I asked you the same question but demanded that answer in 2 seconds. You wouldnโ€™t have time to spell the word in your head and write count the letters, but you know that to count the letters you have to spell it first. This little detail is why they are unreliable and prone to hallucinations, and why they can be so called PHD level intelligent while being incompetent enough to not even operate a vending machine.

To free the masses from the burden of thought. The endgame is consciousness reduced to a vestigial compatability layer to allow LLMs to pilot your body almost directly, while you spend every moment flirting with your digital waifu mommy therapist gf. It's much cheaper than designing robots that don't fall over.
