Why is my chromebook not wanting to connect to my routers 5Ghz connection? Once in a while it works, but like 95% of the time it just says:
>unrecognized error: unknown-failure

Also it will randomly be 100 signal strength and then drop to 0 and say it's out of range when nothing has happened. The 2.4Ghz connection always works.

Can you access bios in chromebooks and boot linux on them?
The price is enticing and I don't need high specs for my usecase.
I tried chromeOS for 2 years and really tried to like it but it's absolutely dogshit.

For anybody wondering, I fixed it by changing the 5Ghz channel from 157 to 153. Literally that's all it was. Now it seems to work perfectly.

Yes shit wifi hardware is shit.
Is it a firmware bug?
Is your antenna bad?
Did the bad antenna reflect energy back into the chip and fry the front end?

You just don't get to know, they don't want you looking. Sorry.
