You're probably not going to find any more success with any one of the big models over another.

Two easy options come to mind:

1. You add a custom prompt in your preset towards the bottom, clearly outlining what you want to happen at specific times as reinforcement.

2. You make a lorebook, each entry with instructions saying something like, "XYZ happens". Make the activation key the trigger time, (e.g "2:35PM") and have it insert as an author's note or low depth, either way, the point is to make it a high priority prompt.

I would say using a lorebook is more likely to work consistently, so if you're willing to do slightly more work, go for that.
