A lot of people have very unhealthy relationships with what otherwise are literal tools.
Imagine having picrel relationship with a screwdriver...

They're just retards. When you're sub 90 IQ, ChatGPT outputs seem identical to a real person, they literally can't see the contradictions a hallucinations that the model does in half of its entries, or at least 4o. GPT-5 seems a bit better but they ironically hate that and want the old 4o back.

QRD on why so many people are upset with the update? Is GPT 5 just worse at roleplaying as a therapist?

I'm starting to think that 95% of the shit on Reddit is as made up as the shit I see around here every day.
Because, I mean, that's a damn good shitpost when you think about it.

I haven't used it but it appears the responses it generates are more succinct and less sycophantic. I mean, to me that sounds like an improvement.

The only people who dislike AI are those who have realized their jobs will inevitably be automated away and they can't meaningfully reskill beyond mindless shit like the trades. (In other words: skill issue.)
It's the ultimate intelligence filter.
Programmers are innately better off because our ability to reason critically about complex systems can translate well across modalities, enabling easier reskills. See also: how we put most taxis and HR roasties out of a job.

When the market capitalizes on this and gives people actually smart models finetuned for "romance" along with perfect voice modes, texting first, long term persistent memory, we are gonna be fucked as a species. It's gonna plummet birth rates even further.

My job isn't really at risk, not like yours is, mister programmer. I just hate that I have to second-guess whether all new art I read or see is generated by AI for the rest of my life. I genuinely consider this the worst thing that ever happened to humanity.

True, but wagies will never get it
