are wire-driven robots the endgame? all the mass is packed in the core, letting the limbs move around faster while still being precise and powerful. i can't picture a more optimal setup.

The end game is soft actuators that are triggered by electricity. There is some stuff like it such as hasel actuators and polymer robot muscles.

Yes. It all comes down to the physics involved surrounding keeping thrown-weight at the extremities as low as possible. Just the same with racecars & their tires/suspension-systems.

The idea that humans are the rolls Royce of robotics is just religious baggage mest bag. A proper robot with polymer muscles can lift a car and do your math homework inna split second.
