>muh tax on the consumers
is the dumbest shit the left is spreading on this site. First off, when a ship from China docks in America, they pay the tariffs. The company whose shit is being shipped PAYS US A FUCKLOAD OF MONEY RIGHT THEN. Now here is where libtards will tell you whoever buys all that shit will simply sell each piece of it at a higher price so that it offsets the tariff. ITS ACTUALLY BULLSHIT. Were they to do that, sales would instantly drop because people are actually not that fucking stupid and will simply stop buying shit that is priced beyond a certain level. So what actually happens? The Chinese HAVE TO keep shipping their shit, they can't just simply close up shop. So they literally have to do one of two things - lower their margins or even SELL AT A LOSS. That's fucking right, not only do we get pretty much the same prices but our chief competitor is slowly bleeding out while he still has to keep selling us shit because if they dont lol enjoy the resurgence of cannibalism in China. All the while we're building out our own manufacturing which eventually in 10 years will produce shit thats actually worth paying for.

The tariffs are a genius move and the best thing I've seen done by a politician in the almost 40 years of my life.

what really happens is that because of the increased price of importing, that cost isn't put on the consoomer directly; what happens is now there's a new price for "what the market will bear" so you get to pay tariff prices on american wheat and steel and so on

this is what happened in canada when ukraine popped off; despite canada making shittons of grain, ukraine being fucked up affected global grain prices by a few cents so all the grocery ceos said "double the price of bread; just tell the peons it's russia's fault even though they grew and milled the wheat and baked and bagged the bread themselves"

Who told you they would triple? They have increased on many things 20-30% though. The thing is trump always chickens out at the last minute so a lot of stuff had the tariffs delayed or not applied to them at all.

Also many companies preloaded a ton of stuff before the tariffs took effect, so for many things it will take a while longer to see effects, but for others we can indeed already see them.

I guess to you 20-30% is acceptable to keep Trump's dick in your mouth 24/7 though.

I have a solution, it's an ancient technique. Upon leaving office any politician will be subjected to an exit poll of the citizenry. The voters will decide between three options
1 execute and seize family assets
2 imprison for life
3 release

What makes you think things would have been any better under Kamala, after the absolute joke of Biden's terms and even getting to know Kamala during this timeframe and realizing she absurdly more retarded than a literal senile old man?

I'm not advocating Kamala would be better. In fact everyone should fucking piss in Biden's grave because he didn't let anyone run primaries and got us in this mess to begin with. He passed some defacto good legislation like the CHIPS Act which shows there's still a brain with the democrats.

They simply didn't campaign on that particular impossibility. There is no possibility of the executive lowing prices all price controls have been repeatedly struck down by courts leaving the only effective price control to be in the money supply which is increased through congressional borrowing and federal reserve fund rates, not the executive.
