Framework supports Linux about as well as Lenovo or Dell. As in they boot something like Ubuntu, check everything works once, and then say they officially support it. Everything after that is just people in the 'community' contributing fixes like disabling ASPM. In contrast Tuxedo/System76 sell re-badged Clevo laptops, but actually maintain drivers for the hardware so stuff like ASPM works, and if it doesn't, they'll actually fix the code, it or let you return it.
Like - Linux runs on frameworks. And it works in a broad sense. But if you have an issue you're going to be shitting dmesg output into a forum like if you'd bought practically any other brand.

I think there are a ton of reasons to criticize them, like their lack of real vision for the laptop16 mainboard upgrade path for example, but this is retarded. It's clearly a deal they're getting from AMD pushing this new chip out, there are other manufacturers selling their own configuration of the Max AI+. How would you even make PC's more modular than they already are? it's basically a solved problem, this is just a cutesy package that doesn't serve any real purpose, but it's hardly Framework's fault.

I agree that it's a weird thing for Framework to sell, but isn't the idea that this is supposed to have a large amount of unified memory so you can run big LLMs with it and stuff? Basically to compete with Macs.
