The most easiest way is to keep an eye on /r/OpenSignups. Most of the trackers that do open signups are shit, but there are exceptions, e.g.: TorrentLeech (general) or AvistaZ (asian content). If you're inpatient, these specific trackers also sell invites.

To get to the better trackers, you will have to grind. There are basically two paths:

- Easier, but less rewarding: interview for MAM and level-up there. Their invites forum opens the door to mid-tier trackers, like ATH. Most users don't need more than this.

- Harder, but more rewarding: interview for RED, level-up there. Using their invite forum you can join the top trackers like PTP or BTN (AKA the cabal).

You can (and probably should) do both simultaneously.

Retard here. Am I even going to notice the difference between a remux like this H.264/MKV/BluRay/1080p/ that is 1920x1080 and an encode like this x264/MKV /BluRay/1080p/ that is 1920x800? The difference in size is usually ~25-30GB vs 10-15GB so it does add up.

The difference in resolution is due to the removal of black bars, so it doesn't matter at all.

Encodes from reputable groups are usually transparent or very close to it. Look at the comps to be sure.

BTW, be wary of x265 encodes. It isn't a bad codec per se, but it's harder to use, so bad groups often fuck it up. They don't know about shit like --no-sao etc. so the result is waxy, the grain and the fine details are lost.

To would-be x265 encoders: before you attempt an x265 encode, lurk moar. Especially read doom9 forums.

There's SportsCult for general sports. Also XWT for pro wrestling.

If you're interested only in recent events, scene trackers may be good too (e.g. DCC or Milkie). Check on predb.org to see if the scene is ripping what you need.

It depends on how you want to use it. As soon as you join OPS you can go to the new user thread and post. They will shower you with tokens. You can use those to download a shitload of albums and start adding to your collection. Then if you really want to get serious about it you can find large torrents on the tracker that are on public trackers and seed them to OPS to turn it into a points/token generating machine. Otherwise you can just use tools to cross seed everything between RED/OPS that is identical across the trackers. It's more rewarding on OPS because of the bonus points. RED is objectively better though. It has the superior catalog.

Generally speaking if you want to optimize your BP/h/gb you should be downloading large torrents with very few seeders (in aithers case you want to make sure it's been snatched a few times though, otherwise you don't get extra benefit), and then you want to permaseed it for years.

BHD also has a ton of other bullshit on the site that I haven't bothered looking into, but I imagine at least some of those are more ways to get quick bp.

Almost, but streaming services have loudness requirements, so the loudness may differ between CD and streaming releases.

Also tracklists may differ between physical and streaming. Although these days it's usually streaming that gets more tracks, because some artists finish albums last minute, after the CDs and Vinyls went to production. For example "Let God Sort Em Out" on CD has 1 track and 1 feature fewer than the streaming version.
