I'm completely retarded at programming and I made this 3d triangle simulation thing I can control with my mouse

Also I made a text editor that sorts my files into categories.
Also I made it play super mario bros on my pc speaker with a script.

Also I made this cat game with destructible blocks.

Pretty wild shit

how come people that are retarded at programming dont use it to tutor them from scratch so they become good instead of just copy pasting code into the compiler kekw

you "made" a bunch of slop games virtually copy-pasted from random githubs, that nobody will ever play including (you)

Still pretty bad at anything remotely complex. It's also pretty bad at retaining context and directives so you have to state them again every once in a while

holy fuck ALSO:
When you're using canvas to test your code and you want to go back to old versions from previous prompts and click the old code it made for it, it's fucking lost forever because the canvas can only hold one thing at a time

Who fucking made this shit?

it is because it's vibrating extremely fast and I tried gpt5 25 times to fix it along with gemini and claude 5 times and nothing.

It's too good to be a free service.
I suspect they will remove the free version entirely at some point in the future.
And for people who are upset because it won't do their job for them, try the paid version.
Don't expect to earn money from a free service.
Openai is smarter than that, of course they will give you the gimped version for free.
But for every day hobbyist questions, gpt5 is great.
Fast and accurate answers.
They even made it more humorous.
The earlier versions were borderline rude and autistic.

I actually work on phd level computer science shit so I actually can judge when it handles those kinds of questions. It answers them well, about as well as o3 did, and apparently that's because it's still just o3 under the hood and is just routing to it? Also all the other bigger models can pretty much handle these questions about the same: decently, and occasionally with a stroke of brilliance that is fleeting and chancy.
But this is the writing on the wall that the whole "scaling LLMs' narrative won't lead to AGI. It's serviceable and reasonably competent but it's still stuck at a level none of them seem to be getting past right now.

I asked it some basic java code: an array of ObjectNodes that can be exported to excel (with Apache Poi). The thing literally invented a random class called ObjectNode and threw some shit in there. It was the worst I've ever seen an LLM do since 2023. It was the free version so i can only asume they made it this bad to make me pay.

He's got a point though. We get that you babble some instructions and outputs something. And it's impressive. But it's still just a thing. Far from being a usable product.
>Yeah but the potential...
It's been 3 years already, and not one single impressive product has come from this. And what I mean by this is actually something new and useful MADE with AI (and not just an AI tool. Those come out everyday)
It's the same shit with videos.
>I made this fantasy anime scene and it just took me 2 hours!
Good. Now take 10, 20 hours more, do the whole thing, release it and we'll see how it is. The tools are already here, right?
Enough of this sampling and prototyping bullshit.

i tried using it to make an ahk v2 script. it made a bunch of syntax errors, tried calling v2 functions while passing in arguments that matched the v1 definition of the same function and kept trying to define variables with the same name as built in classes.
when i pointed out the errors it insisted (over multiple prompts) that my "environment is set up incorrectly" and was suggesting doing a clean install of ahk
eventually i gave up because even after 10-15 prompts i couldn't get it to make a version that would even launch the script without any errors. pasted the same 1st prompt into claude and it worked flawlessly on first try. tried gemini too and it had a few errors on first version but at least it was able to fix them unlike saarGPT
never using this shit for coding again
