Look up "post finasteride syndrome". There are people claiming permanent damage to libido/erectile function, suicidal depression, and brain fog that PERSIST after you stop taking the medication. Some people have kysed themselves over it. Decide if your hair is worth that risk.

Temporarily changing blood flow is very different to altering your hormones. Viagra itself was also made to treat hypertension, not what it ultimately ended up being used for.

Post-finasteride syndrome is literally just nocebo effect retard, look at the RCTs and meta-analysis that are available.

https://gmr.scholasticahq.com/article/88531-finasteride-and-dutasteride-for-the-treatment-of-male-androgenetic-alopecia-a-review-of-efficacy-and-reproductive-adverse-effect

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17655657/

Stop reading so much leddit and actually research a topic for once in your life, just because some moron got one paper published based on literally nothing but some garbage observational data doesn't mean shit. The RCTs show it's basically fucking bullshit.

Keep in mind there is a higher risk than placebo for sexual dysfunction, but the placebo still "caused" a 7% increase in one RCT. Notice though that discontinuation got rid of these side effects though, and it's still not that much considering that such a high number of people on the placebo got it.

Notice it didn't get worse with long term usage either. Then it goes on to explain even then the link is not clear for the short duration symptoms because of the whole BPH thing.

The second paper is about the nocebo effect for finasteride specifically.

From my own personal experience dutasteride made my sexual function better because it helped with my BPH and I can coom 2-3x a day sometimes without issue now. It also *increased* my libido because by blocking DHT your body oftentimes compensates by creating more testosterone, it just doesn't get converted into DHT which wrecks your fucking body.

I stopped taking finasteride for my hair. My man tits started hurting and my libido was still reduced for a good while after finasteride. Not sure about brain fog, as my libido was under control and I could focus better under finasteride.
>is worth that risk
anon I stopped because of my tits so I would say no to the others that are hard to discover. I just wish I can control my libido without taking this shit med. The feeling of being constantly stimulated even when flaccid has caused me great fatigue and I started hating the dopamine fog that comes with it.

I linked fucking RCTs and a meta-analysis/systematic review of RCTs. Do you know the difference between a rat study and an RCT retard?

Of course you wouldn't even know the difference between a case control study, and a systematic review, and a lol case control study.

Rat studies aren't even on the fucking pyramid because no doctor would even bother reading one!

Look, let me say this... Sorry for being so mean, It's just I really, really regret not taking finasteride or dutasteride 5 or even 10 years earlier. If I had I wouldn't have the weird pain issues I have now, and I would likely have a full head of hair!

But instead I listened to nonsense fear mongering about muh "permanent" sexual side effects and post finasteride syndrome.

Protip, just tell yourself you will get increased sex drive when you take it, and your boners will get extra fucking hard! And you know what will happen? You will get excellent placebo effect from it along with the other proven benefits! That's what I did!

How is erectile dysfunction a problem?
Just don't have sex if you don't actually want to.
Or does it work differently?
Like you're still really horny except your dick doesn't work?

>Like you're still really horny except your dick doesn't work?

Exactly, I think for most it's psychological, nerves basically, but some guys during prostate or bowel surgery, accidentally get vital boner nerves and blood vessels severed (they're congregated around the same area). Many manage to recover eventually, but some are less fortunate.

Before my op, my surgeon told me there was a 20% chance of dick death, but mine was a rather unusual case with atypical complications. They told me it's normally only 10%.

My father is a retired GP and told me it is close to 100 percent. And during his entire career, only one single guy avoided urine leakage after prostrate operation.

One part of your brain wants to but the other part doesn't release the erection hormones. 95% of cases are psychosomatic. The other 5% are circulatory (from any kind of chronic liver, prostate, heart disease).

Microneedling and preventing swelling is all that is needed, but you do have to learn how to relax the subocciptal muscles for proper bloodflow.

Mine was from bowel surgery, could be lower odds with that I guess, or they just say that to everyone to avoid panic. Wouldn't surprise me.

As well as my dick nerves, they also accidentally cut into one of my ureters and liver. The latter recovered quickly, but my kidney function is now in single digit % on that side. Definitely had some pissing issues early on from that.
