Retail wasn't even that important, it's the server CPU land that's more important. Intel is dying there too since they're offering CPUs that cost twice as much to run. They coasted on 'Your previous CPUs were intel and they worked great,no-one got fired buying intel' for about 5 years but they're hitting the wall where people realize that AMD processors are cheaper and faster.

Them going under is irrelevant for this discussion tho.

Its not that bad in reality because people who put together PCs them selves are probably 10% of the market at best. AMD is also outselling NVIDIA 2:1 in this generation of GPUs according to the same data. But 90%+ of PCs are prebuilds or laptops. So the market share needle doesn't move much despite.

But it does show that people who know what they are doing when it comes to PCs buy AMD+AMD.

This isn's good, we should all buy Intel even if it sucks to avoid having a monopoly.

Hahaha, sure thing bud. But perhaps we should do what you say. Just as soon as they drop to say 40% market share overall.
Until then, they get what they fucking deserve.

The only way anyone would buy intel is if the 285k can compete with 7800x3d bundle deal prices. In other words, it'd have to be roughly $500 for mobo, ram, and 285k to even be competitive. The fact the burning 14th gen is still outselling the new gen is bad. The piecemeal architecture can be used to attack the x3d architecture but there are a lot issues and you need early adopter prices and warranties.
