>455 watts
>GE brand with warranty (aka not chink shit)
>takes a minuted to install
>can be removed and stored in winter
>zero floorspace removed
>instantly cools any room for less than 200 dollars
>lasts for decades

you have literally no excuse to not have on demand cold air in the summer. i can't even crank this thing full power without it getting uncomfortably freezing in the middle of summer

I am an apartment rentoid if any bit of that actually hangs out the window, I'm sure I'd get in trouble. I tried one of the floor units, those are disgusting the venting duct traps heat indoors.

the portable ac's are total trash. they suck in hot air from the outside of the house in. also create a fun negative pressure for bugs to come in

I own a Haier refrigerator. Chinese appliances are decent. My air conditioner is a Midea.

And mini splits if there's balcony space. You can also try and 'convert' a one pipe into a 2 pipe by buying a pipe and ghetto-rigging the pipe to the input parts of the AC.

This.
In peak summer afternoons a 12000 BTU unit is barely able to keep my 65 sqft room comfortably cool.

Haier is chink-shit Fisher and Paykel. The Chinese bought F&P, left them to do their high end rich person shit, and stole all their low end designs then enshittified them

I’ve had one for a couple years. Didn’t want to install a window unit so just got a $400 single hose portable ac without thinking too much about it. It keeps my upstairs south facing room with 3 large windows from getting extremely hot. If I put it the lowest temp (62F) my room gets cold but it runs constantly. I usually keep it at 70 and it works well to keep it comfortable. Depending on the temperature outside it only runs a few times an hour at that temp. It came with sticky foam stuff to put around the window where it sits as a seal which prevents bugs from coming in. I also put a DIY screen over the hose entrance to prevent any bugs crawling into the hose. While it may not be super efficient, it works surprisingly well. My electricity bill still averages the same as before I started using it too. Not sure why everyone always says they suck

If this is a real question, there's no through connection between the inside and outside of a window AC (except for some of them which you can set to take outside air by pulling a tab). Any insect access is from poor sealing around the edges that can be solved with tape if you really care about it, that'll improve insulation as well.

I'm happy with it. We had the compressor blow during the power fluctuations that one expects to experience when they live in the Philippines. Was easy enough to get someone over to fix it.
