On the macro level, absolutely. The "right wing" position on climate change is that it doesn't exist, and when shown effects, it's clearly evidence of manipulation by weather machines. The "left wing" position on climate change is that eventually once it gets bad enough, someone in the free market will engineer a solution that will save us.
However, on the micro level, any other economic system cannot compete in terms of giving people the treats they want. Wasn't Soviet common fashion notoriously terrible, unable to ever meet the whims of the people?
