It won't install. I used GNOME on Rocky Linux and found it inefficient.

It's the best linux distribution out there, only the Ubuntu LTS build specifically, but I cannot get over the fact that it's name is some ngubu african nigga word, and that they promote Ubuntu Pro all over the OS. Everything else feels like an amateur hobbyist attempt at packaging apps together without any logic, just random dudes in their basements throwing together shit
>dude... what if we made it btrfs..
>.. bro why?
>man it sounds like butter ffs haha dude get it, butter ffs btrfs haha
>man thats so funny, also we should like deprecate a bunch of older computers and hardware parts
>haha yeah fuck our users haha let's make sure steam cant be used on our distro because its 32bit haha
like this is genuinely how 99% of other distros work, two stoned fat communist retards on HRT and weed talking about random shit and vibe coding as the distro falls apart

Snaps always give me issues and if I'm gonna de-snap it I might as well just use Debian.

I do. It is shit but it is less shit than fedora which shipped 2gb of updates a week after a fresh install which buck broke the install. Kinda e-based I guess but sometimes I need a working computer.

Can't install a .deb package with 2 clicks right after a fresh install.

I used it for over 10 years. Snaps used to suck, but I hear they're fine now. I just use Debian, though.

Mint is moving away from X11. Most Linux desktop users don't use a DE that lets them actually lock the screen. This isn't as severe of a security issue as you wish it was.

Yes I know you're going to try posting the mash keyboard bug.

I thought an update to 24.04 fixed this. Am I wrong?

Ubuntu is fine for the thipical tech guy/kid who want to impress his friends and family using something different than windows or mac os.

In my opinion, i think ubuntu is good to start Linux, but can not be the last linux distro, there is a lot of distro for spececifics case of uses

I've been using Ubuntu on my headless computers for over 15 years. Did some distro hopping on desktop, realized it's a waste of time.

I use Ubuntu as my every day OS, aside from snaps being retarded it works fine. Iโ€™ve tried to switch a few times now but I can never find a distro that feels the same way. I love budgie but the lack of HDR support kills it for me so for now Iโ€™m stuck on gnome.

Been using Fedora KDE for about 2 months and it has been breedy gud so far at least. Tried Ubuntu before Fedora and for some reason it was molasses slow on my decade old shitbox pc, Fedora is pretty snappy though

Debian never gave me problems I couldnโ€™t solve easily so I just always used that instead. Nothing against the โ€˜buntu, just never really had a reason to use it over Debian.
