Anonymous No.106236802 >>106247404
actually yeah
the reset button is a bloat since we still can cut the power without that

I love the increase of these type of threads and would like to thank the UK and EU for making self hosting and networking front and center
Thank you for this thread OP I jumped into this a few weeks before the whole scare and adjusting and learning has never been easier

Fuvk i knew 10 Gb would be a lot. $500 is a lot btw. Is this what people actually buy, or do they go some other route?

>$500
Fuck, is this true?
At that point just get a mini-pc and install OPNsens on it.

Or even Ubiquiti

UCG-Fiber has 2x SFP+ 10Gbps and 1x 10GbE with 4x 2.5GbE and it's only $280.

Add a high-end wifi 7 access point for $200-300. (U7 Pro XG or U7 Pro XGS)

Now you have Wifi 7 instead of Wifi 6. 2.4/5/6Ghz instead of just 2.4/5ghz, and you get an additional 10gbps port since it has 2x SFP+ instead of just 1x.

Retard shit for people who will never learn about switches and network hubs.
Yeah slam all of that workload on your router, use a dozen gaymen features for muh latency, still run worse than going through a switch.

All these companies overcharge for hot new feature. Wifi gens being rapidly advanced, old parents asking if WiFi 5 is the reason their internet buffers, etc.
People plug these into their 12 year old bare bones 250mpbs docsis modems because hey it says faster right and I need connectivity.
8 billion jigabytes.
What does networking even mean.
