If you are not using the GPIOs an old Laptop or mini-pc would have been better value.

I put a porn scraper in mine with a regular NTFS-formatted external USB drive. It also has a webserver, some applications, it's not too bad for a linux box.

Why do you buy shit if you have no idea what to do with it without asking random retards on the internet?

not trolling those things are unironically useless now that they cost as much as a regular mini pc while being significantly slower, the cheap price was the only they became popular

look for shields that do what you'd need. or chuck it in a drawer until you need it for something.

they're good for network services that draw fuck all power. just because you don't know what to use it for doesn't mean it's useless.

>wasting a Cortex A76 on fucking GPIO
Come on.

If you don't need much RAM and want them on 24/7 or have power constraints they still have a place. Otherwise yeah, just get an x86 mini for a much better experience.

If I had one (I have a 3 I'm going to migrate some services to it once I dust it up and find a powers supply.
1.Host your own Dashboard
2.Use uptime kuma to monitor your stuff of interest
3.Pi hole
4. Wireguard
I think you could run all of those on that machine and probably more.

I do that sometimes. for example when I needed it once to solve some problem and I didn't have it, I'll get it just in case I'll need it again. or if it seems like the kind of thing I might need at some point, knowing me. don't get me wrong, not saying you should buy slop like a retarded without needing it. but for example I did buy a $10 logic analyzer because I needed it once and didn't have it, and it's very handy when you really need it. and ended up using it after a couple of times.
could serve as a backup in case your main PC shits the bed, can connect monitor/keyboard/mouse and browse and shit. has spi/i2c/serial, could be useful for some troubleshooting, who knows. good to have as a nerd

How are the BIOSes typically on mini PCs like pic related? I know not to expect BIOS updates, but how usable are they? Can you do things like set RAM speeds/timings, power limits, fan curves maybe?

this reminds me, did that anon ever compile the kernel on that raspberry pi zero in his ass?
Anonymous No.106243230

I can't imagine how long it would take a rpi 0 to compile the kernel. Weeks?
