First sloppy experiment with samplers and anime. (yes, there are loads of anime sampler experiments out there, but none of them use DPM++4). Tested Euler a and DPM variants.

I've noticed that DPM offers sharper backgrounds, line art and hair, but I don't know why I still prefer Euler a, I think it's more suited to anime, since anime itself isn't that defined.

What happens is that for anime Euler A, it's still king. If you wanted to create a CGI animation type anime like Genshin or something similar, I believe that modern samplers could do a better job at defining the lineart and adding more subtle details but for 2D anime, this isn't necessary. Photorealism sloppers use SDE ++ samplers all the time.

Tried the Krita+Comfy real time workflow and it feels like a gimmick. The quality is garbage because it updates too fast, doesn't give the model enough time to bake. Maybe my config is just fucked, but I'm getting way better results doing sketch inpainting in Forge. It's not real time, but the output is actually usable.

Anons, I'm stuck trying to add a headpiece lying in the floor in the red box.zone I mask the area and prompt it, but the AI just generates some mangled garbage instead of adding the object. Inpaint sketch is even worse. I tried denoising from 0.3-0.9, no near results.
What's the actual logic for this, is this not what inpaint is for? What I'm missing?

Anon here who used a NAI proxy. Do not recommend paying for NAI. It's pure digital heroin. Instant, high quality gens from literal garbage prompts in less than a second. Was easily hitting 500 gens/day.

Only the highest tier is worth it, you get unlimited gens, so use it well, and 10k currency, so most people sub for a month then unsub, they get a month of unlimited gens then 10k after that to play around.
Not worth it for animation, it's better to go local with 2.5d+ styles for that.

You can use (Re)forge or comfy to upscale your gens with tile scripts like sd upscale. It's worse than proper upscale obviously but it's "free".

Gotten somewhere with that, but I need to put in "HSA_OVERRIDE_GFX_VERSION=10.3.0" in to allow for my older GPU
But when I throw a command recommended by the readme to resolve the error, the command line gives the exact same error again (RuntimeError: No HIP GPUs are available).

Not shilling, but NovelAI actually gets abstract concepts and can place objects in relation to each other. That’s because of how they structured their SDXL. With the right training, you can pull this off locally too.

My take: mixing tags for token efficiency with some descriptive prose for abstract ideas works best. Going full tags or full flowery prose both suck. The WAN/Flux purple prose slop is unreadable garbage.

I got around to trying this https://ashen1n.dev/blog/image_gen/ but it's not entirely smooth sailing. Honestly I'm new to ADetailer and upscaling. I'm using Forge. Am I meant to do the upscaling on the extras tab first and then go to img2img for ADetailer? Resize on the img2img tab doesn't let me choose an upscaler.

ADetailer also destroyed her pantyhose.

Feels like it's going a bit far with the wrinkles on the leotard. Is denoising strength the correct slider to play with or is there something in the ADetailer settings?

I keep the same model for both upscaling and hires fix - switching is optional but doesn't really change anything in my experience.

Don't have my ADetailer settings on hand right now, but I'll post them when I'm back at my gooning station.

Important: Don't use the extras tab for upscaling.

For hires fix , it's built into Forge's txt2img tab. Just check the box to enable it.

ADetailer is a Forge extension that comes with several detection models pre installed. If you have a decent PC, always use the largest detection model available.

For example with YOLO models:

yolov8n-face: Nano version, smallest model
yolov8s-face: Small version, bigger than nano
yolov8m-face: Medium version, largest I've found so far , use this one if you can
Same logic applies to other ADetailer models.

Keep in mind: if your overall image is good (especially for close up shots on gooning models), ADetailer might not change much since hires fix probably already cleaned things up. But if you want to experiment with face ADetailer, adjust the inpaint denoising strength. I typically use 0.25-0.3 if the previous steps were done correctly.

Might as well use ADetailer all the time if you want to get something decent involving a face.
