>toilet leaking 400 liters a day
i'm pretty sure you'd notice
>use the expensive cleaned treated water from your kitchen to water your plants
do they not have irrigation in the uk?
>brown grass will grow back healthy
not without water
the uk is a failed state.

Maybe a little, but fuck off.
I will not be doing anything until private jets are no longer allowed and data centres etc. use air cooling rather than water.

>do they not have irrigation in the uk?
They probably mean water you used in washing vegetables or cooking.

That would be like 40 flushes a day. Suppose the tank filling time was 30s.
That then is equivalent to 20 minutes of tank filling but spread out over 24 hours that would mean it would flow only 1,3% of what would flow during refilling. Judging by the noise of it id say I've seen leakier toilets. So. I'd say that's plausible.
Of course
>you would notice
but I guess many people simply do not care or run the math and find that leaking water is less deteimental for their personal maxim, material wealth, than getting super mario to fix it.
Anonymous No.106244022
The idea that using less cloud storage etc.. could mean less cooling necessary at some data center, but its absolutely miniscule. Even if every home user user decided to stop backing up their own shit on some cloud server or make use of remote storage country-wide, just one more corpo deciding they're going to spin up a few more servers or mining rigs or whatever AI crunching platform...would make up for it in a day.

Anyway, the bigger issue Grummz should be focusing on is that that very gov't is saving those very pictures and documents in order to decide you can access those websites. If the UK really thinks that's a problem, they can save a lot of water by not requiring every user to send a picture of themselves holding their goddamn ID in order to get a loicense, guv'na.

at a large enough scale, yea probably. anything that reduces datacentre storage requirements will reduce cooling requirements as well. idk if it's significant enough to put on a short bullet list for country-wide recommendations though

I don't think the data centers powering your email services are using really all that much power.
And even then, your old emails are probably not the cause of the power usage. They're probably sitting in cold storage on a tape drive or something.

>Does deleting old e-mails really save water?
Not really. You could literary host a email server with hundreds accounts on a raspberry pi.

AI and other CPU/GPU intensive services, are the ones require constant cooling; by poor eco-planning consume high amounts of water.

You tell me the almost vibe coded, hacked together cancers called React and Python putting a CPU on a strain x400 times bigger than required to do tasks aren't a problem, but grandma's old receipts are? Microjeet gets to burn kWatts of energy per year datamining my work PC and making me click on React Native GUIs backed in the fucking OS but i have to revisit my mail for the sake of the world?
IMAP's crap is the main reason behind this supposed struggle btw, a FAGMAN invention to lock down their mail services.

It happens frequently enough. Look up the article "Child_sexual_abuse_in_the_United_Kingdom" on wiki, just under notable incidents it lists 30+ entries. In fact the article used to be called "Muslim grooming gangs in the United Kingdom" but got renamed because, you know, political correctness is more important.

They're not for dumping a whole cutting board of scraps down, they're for dealing with random bits that fall in the sink while washing dishes so you don't have to dig them out.

A good garbage disposal will absolutely let you dump large scraps from the cutting board into the drain, but the $180 home improvement special at your apartment isn't a good one.
