I used it once to leech an album of a band I couldn't find in the usual spaces. I use to download all my music but then I was gifted with a pseudo-indefinite Spotify sub and I've become complacent. I'm thinking of downloading everything I've come to like with some of these new age laws rolling around. Wonder if I'll find all of what I like on there.

And you're at the mercy of them peacing out randomly. I mean sure you can try to find another person who has the files, but it sounds better to have it as a p2p network which such a thing. But I digress and assume that's part of the point of soulseek compared to p2p solutions.

there are benefits to shares not being torrents too. For example you can edit the tags in your files as you please, and you don't have to bother creating a torrent for each of your albums. You can just share your music folder and that's it.
