OPs pic is literally what it is like to install OpenBSD. Complete and total dull monotony. I used to be a fan in the 90s, but now it's just.. why? Unless maybe you're going to defcon or something.

I love openbsd but it’s not really suitable as a desktop os for the vast majority of users for many reasons, it’s more for servers

Yes. Linux is for normies now, not for the kool hax0r. Sadly a lot of /g/tards realized this and are immigrating like insects to Open/net/freeBSD. Soon it will be normified too.

Gentoo will give you a similar experience with a lot less troongineering and a lot more program support.

Also how do you guys manage to use linux at all, specially in laptops, battery doesn't last at all, on desktops sleep mode doesn't work specially if you have a dedicated GPU

How does posting your age reveal your identity retard?
Do you think I am the only 23 year old on this planet?
>>106261938
It always crashed during the install itself.
Fedora worked though, I had to manually install fbe proprietary drivers and sign them though, it was a hassle, despite all that sleep mode still didn't work.

i feel the pain. i was trying to do a bare metal install on a core 2 duo a while back and tried probably 10 distro until bhodi linux finally worked. ill admit i was a bit of a noob.

linux is alot better now than 5 years ago. the nvidia drivers are fine if they work.

OpenBSD as a daily driver isn't really practical. Unless your only using the device for web browsing, email, and some light programming/text editing you're really not going to have a fun time. Since it's super de-bloated and security focused it's hardware support and software ecosystem are gonna be super limited. You're gonna have a hard time doing any video editing, gaming, or running any modern bloated software. Just slap it on a server instead, you get all the benefits without the drawback of convenience you'd have using it as your main OS.

I would suggest you buy something like a cheap lenovo thinkcentre to try it on. It isn't really good for desktop use, but works well for servers.
