Smaller with less inertia so they handle transients better than larger DDs, they are more responsive and less prone to distortion, especially in the treble region. They have the advantages of BAs without most of the disadvantages.

The downside is they usually have lower sensitivity, have more difficulty with bass and require more power to drive, some overcompensate and have too much bass, especially mid bass.

Finally got daybreak... What can I say? It is pretty good. They are kinda smaller than I expected from all the photos and videos. Very comfortable so if you are fine with semi custom shells or if you find q1pros comfortable these ones should be too.
Sound quality is as expected. If you are familiar with jm-1 tuning well... that's basically what it is. Nice bass, smooth treble, great mids. Do they sound that different from my vaguely jm-1 tuned SM4s? Not really? But on the other hand I don't really feel the need to fuck with EQ (outside of ear canal resonance).
Surprisingly standard medium eartips were pretty comfortable but using spring tips just brings comfort to another level. And relaxes treble even more which is nice. Tried triple falange tips too... They made sound very shouty and basically unlistenable for me which is the first time I get such an effect with them lol. I got coffee tips too but they are couple of days away still. Doubt they'll beat spring tips but more tips is always nice.

For higher volumes something with relaxed treble should be good but literally anything will be fine if you EQ. Sometimes, opening an Opus file I've converted from FLAC in freac with the following settings causes the file to have an (apparently random) delay before playback in Foobar (either on Android or desktop). In the best case it manifests as an extremely annoying multi-second gap in otherwise gapless tracks, and in the worst case I'll open a song to play and nothing will happen for half a minute.
The vast majority of tracks seem to operate functionally, without delay. Has anyone had this issue and can advise on a solution (that doesn't necessarily involve re-encoding my entire mobile library?)

All planar iems are dogshit, regardless of brand, so he might as well go for the cheapest option if he really, really, really wants a planar.

But as I said *all* planars are dogshit, manufacturers have to jumps through various hoops like shoving foam filters in them or just cutting out some frequencies with passive electronic filters, and then they just try to sell you the narrative how planar drivers are somehow the next greatest thing there is in audio.

They say because the membrane is flat, it can move uniformly, there's less distortion etc. But if you look at how a planar drivers is built, you can see that's where the greatest lie is hidden.

How is the whole flat membrane supposed to move uniformly, when it's pinched around the perimeter by the driver's casing? This is also why planars are harder to drive, because they're flat and pinched all around, their movement is more restricted so it takes more power to actually move anything.

Been thinking about getting a Bluetooth adapter for my IEM's when I hit the gym, but now I look at the HiFi Walker H2 and I'm contemplating getting one.

If I want this feature set, is this the best option right now? It's way pricier than on the OP guide on Ali right now (~$192/700PLN), but on Daddy Bezos' site it's just 500PLN/~$138 and if it's in the same price ballpark as most Bluetooth adapters, but it is a full old-school DAP with a click wheel, and I can put Rockbox on it, I'm really getting sold on this.
