Given how fast consumer CPUs are becoming for software AV1 4K encoding it's more likely people in the future will just send each other UHD blu-ray rips to each other over home servers as streaming websites double down on all the woke shit and censorship. If buying isn't owning then copying isn't stealing.

Absurd capacity discs have been promised for decades, but not one has ever left the lab. Until you can go buy them with no strings attached, I'm not wasting my energy believing in it.

Blu-ray could’ve been the real successor to CDs for big media files, but they shot themselves in the foot with insane prices and mandatory DRM.
