...no, that's because they cost too damn much and used ones are expensive to fix. If you could get say the Model 3 new for $20k things would be a lot different. There are other issues too like how manufacturers test the cars software on units that have been sold to customers already, or how they rely on electronics for stuff like door handles, but few people even know enough to care.
Now when the bans on sales of internal combustion engines hit, then failure might be blamed more on infrastructure.

Its coming, the increased power draw from these retards is inevitably going to be enough that the buck is passed onto us, and we're going to have energy restrictions on the daily so that they can continue to power their LLMs/massively inefficient computers without having to improve the power grid.
I'm calling it right now. And the energy companies will be all for it because the people won't be able to say or do shit about it, they'll find a way to make the bills the same, while also raking in money from AI lobbies.

Either that, or energy costs are going to hyperinflate, and the US will be the first to enter a psuedo dark age where only the top couple of percent of people will be able to afford around the clock energy.

It will literally only go one of these two ways, theres no other alternative, at least in the US because its vehemently opposed to improving infrastructure.

They've accumulated 40 years of surveillance data on the population and now they need a way to process it to end all trace of freedom. Also the cost cutting in jobs and the autononous drones. It's all a tech authoritarian wet dream.

But they need you to use it so that they can refine their training data so the future they promise you is all sunshines and rainbows and AGI star trek shit.

Not just whole Spain, but also Portugal and parts of France went offline and you could measure the frequency anomaly caused by it throughout the European grid.
Our own inverter for our solar plant detected it and did its emergency procedure and went off-grid.

It's what happens when you close fossile fuel plants and nuclear plants while also adding new countries to your grid (the balts just recently joined it).
The European grid is now on a third world level.

The benefits of being state-managed is that you have interdisciplinary relationships.
If you have shitton of solar power, but the solar power is only there during the day, you have lots of free energy to burn during those times.
So if you have something that eats power on demand and can be shut down on command, its a benefit.
You can't use the energy to smelt steel, because you aren't going to shutdown a steel mill temporarily within a minute. But a building full of GPUs... You can rev it up or down within seconds.

I know when you are in a Western country where energy is ten times more expensive than anywhere in the rest of the world, it is really hard to imagine such a scenario.
But if your infrastructure actually isn't third world tier shit, you do have excess to burn.

Those are for low tension lines, the large power lines are high tension lines, the wire is higher strength and does not easily cut.
I think though this tool would work if you modify it with a way to hang onto the wire and then introduce the blade to it in a controlled way. It will eventually cut enough that it snaps. But it might also destroy the drone because the snapping force will be huge and might pull a lot on the hanging bit.
Maybe with luck you can cut just deep enough it doesn't snap until the heat of the day and the wires grow a bit weaker or from heavier loads put on them

Michigan is trying to bring a mothballed nuclear plant back online. Both Biden and Trump have issued loan guarantees for the project but even though the plant was only recently closed, it's expensive to restart a nuclear plant once has been decommissioned. Part of the reason for wanting to start it back up is so there will be no need to ever import electricity from Ontario. With the hunger for electricity LLMs have, new data centers likely will popup near the restarted nuclear reactors, using up the added capacity, making Michigan once again dependent on electricity from Ontario.

Not really; meltdowns aren't nearly dangerous enough to kill lots of people, they just make areas uninhabitable. If anything it'd make the problem worse since it just creates less space, reduces farmland, while not actually killing more than a dozen people at worst. ~30 people died in chernobyl due to the accident. A couple thousand may have died (due to cancers later one) but most of these people were cleanup crew. We could have a chernobyl every month and car accidents would still be killing more people. In the USA alone, ~3000 people die PER MONTH in car accidents.

its just spin based computing that works in the frequency regime like photonics its a neat idea and has the potential to save a lot of energy for matrix calculations etc. but so far they are searching for better materials that can reach the THz range instead of GHz because the existing stuff is too expansive if scaled up (mostly due to the need for establishing new processes). That shouldn't be a problem for the big corps with how they are throwing billions at literal whos. Makes me think its a all a huge circle jerk where they use various research projects to bribe/reward their friends.
