I installed Mint last week. It took me a a few days to sort everything out how I like it, but I feel like I might be sticking with it. I cannot, however, foresee normie cattle being arsed to jump through the hoops I had to go through to get it just right. Nothing difficult, just time-consuming, with lots of googling and LLM queries.
They will continue with being spied on, because it's just easier for them.

I don't expect the people who work for the gov to instantly know to use Linux instead of Windows, as if by magic, without having to go through expensive formations.

That being said there is also no good Linux alternative for active directory. And Linux is indeed already used, for web servers.

The problem is features and integrations. You would know this if you worked. Every piece of software seamlessly integrates with teams and outlook 365. For foss you need to create integration and your costs will be a lot higher and your integration will work like shit.
