Why bother learning about technology? It's redundant now. There is no point in doing so. AI can just write code and fix technical issues in seconds. So why should you bother?

your overlords want a demoralized generation so that they can go to the goverment and demand more h1bs
don't fall for it

AI in it's current iteration is all but completely useless for professional software work.
Also, it has already peaked.

Because it's a language model. It's not "intelligent", AI is just a marketing buzzword like any other. You still need experts to KNOW what's good or bad.
There is no reason to simply trust this overhyped search engine.

If the company bigwigs decide that experts are no longer needed as Aidan from sales and marketing can code now...

OP bump. More need to know about this

no it can't

AI currently only appears that way to people who are not highly skilled in a certain topic. If you know a decent amount in a topic you realize how basic bitch it's knowledge is.

Current models still choke on any moderately complex C/C++ task you assign them. The generated code is usually not particularly extensible or efficient, and that's if it works at all.

I look forward to charging MBA fucktards unreasonable amounts of money to untangle their spaghetti in about 10 years.

There are simply going to be far fewer competent people going forward. AI can get pretty decent results but doesn't help at all building an understanding of how and why things work. I don't know if 10 year old me would have ever learned to code if I could just ask a chatbot for all the dumb little programs I wanted to write as a kid. Younger generations are going to be so dependent on AI they'll be functionally retarded when the internet goes out.

Ironically, it's going to lead to more demand for competent programmers. A lot of new programmers won't bother learning their shit. Why grind through the docs if you think you can vibe code your way through life?

AI can not exchange faulty hardware yet.

You need to know how to write code to know what kind of code to ask AI for.
>Be me
>Senior engineer with 12 years of experience
>Working with a junior engineer
>Both of us have access to AI coding assistants
>I churn out hundreds of lines a day
>He can't change a Boolean to true on the simplest task I could find
But please, don't learn. It inflates my salary. Especially if we fire all the H1B jeets.

Sorry chud, they came to stay.
Unfortunately AI will replace you. I recommend you to get prepared.

>spend 30 years telling AI to do your work for you
>one day, for whatever reason, the AI stops working
>have a psychotic breakdown, go insane and not understand how to do anything in your job and end up destroying everything

that's one reason

Remember when the ceo of apple told you to learn to code instead of science or art or even a new language because it's so so important and so cool and so useful (for him)?

AI's nice for vibe coding a basic userscript but for real work programmers are still needed. See Tea for an example

Of course. Currently, however, it's only suited for basic tasks.

I don't know how long it will last like that. Each year less programmers are required.
