LLM's have plateaued but they have to keep releasing new versions for hype and dumb money to keep pouring in. Instead of improving things they're just changing shit around, tweaking shit, etc. and because they now train on AI output via the broader internet which has become flooded with AI content, the models are actually getting worse.
