because recall is a nothingburger. Its turned off by default and even when its turned on, it doesnt really phone home. Sure, the idea is very retarded and it feels like someone at microsoft asked some hallucinating LLM how to integrate ai into windows to lure the investors, but as long as microsoft doesnt actively try to spy on people with it, you shouldn't care.

its a linux distro, and not even the one that aims to "just work" like ubuntu or fedora. Software and hardware compatibility is still poor, so is the stability, plus recreating an offline workflow is harder than on windows.

You know, I could never think of a reason for Recall until I fucked up the order of operations on a password change last month. I had copied a security question to login before pasting the new password into something to " write it down" first, so I had to redo the whole thing over with a new password. Recall would've allowed me to go back and retrieve the password for that first change instead of having to redo everything a second time. Saving me a couple of minutes of my day.

Outside of situations like that though, I don't see many real-world applications for anything else it can do.
