it creates info to add into your persona so that they can give you better adverts. it doesn't seem obvious now because they only have fb, instagram, whatsapp and some widgets to show you adverts, but they will control the AR metaverse and if you are goyish enough to buy their AR glasses in 2030+ you will see adverts specifically for you and they will get a few thousands of a cent for each one.
it is info building in the hope (and likelihood) they will have more ad serving platforms to use that info.
