I got wrapped up in work yesterday so I forgot to reply, yes I am that anon
current implementation design for steg is going to be in C++ with encryption, compression, and multi-layer gamma embedding so the instructions can be hidden from casual view
I'd like to make a browser plugin as well that can automatically scan for and display the embedded information

>>106274249
I'd like to have an alternative but right now I don't know of any that fit my criteria, it would have to be some method of fully connecting to every available system and exchanging the (encrypted) information directly without a central server to host from
when tox was first being developed on /g/ I was one of the people who abandoned the project because they didn't want to solve this very problem (how can something be secure if you have to exchange the keys in an insecure way?)

Welcome back, anon.

for your consideration; your news posts might benefit from steganography, if you embed the entire story in your posted images you could dump all the information without risk of dead links, you could write up detailed reports and use the steg images for your base

also I would like to thank you, see I actually had a massive hard drive failure which deleted my source for the best version of my steg program, I've recovered all the files I've lost but they're not named or organized, and I have hundreds of thousands of python files so I've been rewriting it from scratch, but the award you gave me has some of the source code in it and I only just noticed, so I can use that to search for the original

no dice on searching for the source code
RIP I guess it's lost forever

This is a really good idea, but I wonder if 4chubs will somehow scub the image. I know for a fact that before the 4chan hack, that they were OCR'ing images, and blocking certain websites that I was including in a few of my images.
>>106281534
Awe damn... I can't recall how you posted it last time- did you point ot a repo, or pastebin? Maybe we can find it in the archive, or maybe an anon saved it to disk and can repost it?
In anycase, maybe it's time for version 2? With a TGUI? Your next Deep /cyb/ Dominator Award patiently awaits!
Anonymous No.106281704 >>106281906 >>106281914
>>106281675
well lets check, my method is designed specifically to avoid both detection and deliberate manipulation, if the image is lossless then the data should still be there

i posted it to pastebin, but apparently I didn't set it to forever
if an anon does have a copy and reposts it it would save me alot of headache, but I'm making significant progress already so mostly I want it for archival purposes
Anonymous No.106281906 >>106282007
>>106281675
>>106281704

still works just fine looks like
new version is going to avoid the alpha layer since that would make it an easy detection method, to simply strip alpha away or something, don't want to encourage that
it'll be rrrggbbb for the bit-field, so it'll still be 1 byte per pixel
I'll let you know when I have something more real to throw together for this if you want to use it, im thinking a program that you can dump an image link into and it determines the file type and displays it without saving the data to your computer unless you tell it to, people could then have it setup to the current cyb thread and browse your articles like that
alternatively if I can get it working in a plugin, one could have the articles just appear on the right side of the screen after the plugin adds a button for confirmed steg images

I hope someone in the thread saved it and reposts it. I thought I did, but I can't find it. On a personal note, I'm glad you kept your award. There are only three official awards ever given, but unofficially 4. The fourth would have been 'cybd' anon, but as far as I remember, he didn't finish it. You may remember seeing the pics and logos I made for his project.

When your ready, post it and this time, I'll save the code as metadata in your award image, and then again, in steggo form! Hell, we should have both steggo'd your source code into your award image. You need to do that next time! LOL

As a Deep /cyb/ Dominator Award winner, you should keep in mind that your genius will come to you in waves of inspiration, sometimes even when doing completely different things. Then like a bolt of lightning, SHAZAM!!! it comes to you. At least that's how I imagine intelligent people get great ideas. You've got the skill. Just take your time, and find your groove. I am confident you'll get there.

Best I can do is this crappy poem, and an ethereal radio station larp:

Cyberpunk is dead -
Privacy? Illusion.

Solarpunk's a young man's dream world -
Lunarpunk? Dillusion...

CyberSec's a fight -
It's combatants one day loose -

The future's what we make it-
It's up to you to choose.

only a retard would suggest changing passwords while a alleged hack has just been announced. if the attack was still ongoing and involved some kind of mitm (be it client-side or server-side), you'd only get a false sense of security.
