Why japanese programmers are so bad? I'm working on some japanese code (all their programmers are japanese), it fucking sucks, no wonder japanese programmers are payed pennies.

It's jeet tier code.

my english may be broken but I try, japanese devs don't even try.
>write comments in japanese, you translate it, it's obvious shit like "this do A"
>the code is full of abstractions that have no purpose
>they write class constructors and variables on the bottom of the class (???)

I rewrote their shit and cut down like 300 lines of garbage.

The language barrier does a lot among other factors, also I have been told they don't do a lot of real practice in college they do mostly theory

all their problems with higher level language originates from Microsoft and US Govt. interference and the failure of their national BTRON project
had it gone through, basic programming — even if entirely foreign and incompatible — would have been mandatory for all students since the start of the 90s

I think about that kind of world very frequently

Yeah, I always wondered how a world with a relevant Japanese architecture would've been like.
MS attempting to release Windows for JAP (Japanese Architecture for Processors) and having very mild success due to typical half-assed MS shit and the Japanese preferring to use domestic hardware and software. All while Wintel dominates the US and most Western countries but Japan has key wins all around the world (Brazil manufacturing 80% of their computers JAP-compatible), etc.

And here you're lucky if you get an MS Office tutorial yet we have a healthy software industry.

I don't think it's a policy problem.

You use comments to explain why something is done
You use appropriate variable, type, and function names to explain what you are doing.

They don't know English and their work culture is designed to kill any motivation or initiative from younger developers. In Japanese companies, everything is decided by some oldest boomer who is 30 years in the past education wise. Additionally, programmers are paid shit and so it is not a respectable or desirable career path.
