The GPD Win 5 does not have a sliding keyboard and will not be a Maid Computer. Does anybody have any suggestions for other candybar form factor machines with physical keyboards?

That out of the way, here are my 2¢:

1st¢: On the topic of maid computers, shouldn't it be reasonably easy in current year to get some phone/tablet internals and /mkg/ one of those tiny keyboard "cases" they have, but instead on whatever desired form factor? I always likes swivel netvertibles design (although I never had one, I just admired from afar), and I imagine you could make a usb keyboard + usb hub + whatever periferal you want to usb (e.g. rj45 to usb) and package the whole thing as the "laptop base" and end up with your own computer, right? Wouldn't be much apron fitting, but sounds doable? Idk, I'm not hardware/soldering guy. Wish I was.

2st¢: On maid autismo culture. Sometimes I manage to stay out of 4chan for weeks/months, so I msut've missed the drama. I remember you guys keeping to your own threads and getting called faggots for not much reason. What happened with jannies banning and embedding stuff in images? Are you doing /cumg/v2 style stuff? Because that was kino, technology-wise. I remember some userscript/plugin that would download 4chan images from the original highres pixivs when you expanded them, for example. Also, what are these Maid Cards this guy >>106290131 mentions? Is it these images with embeds? What are you guys even embedding?

Maids are not related to /cumg/ and Maid Cards were a way to share uncompiled source code and Computational Maidposting/Number Theory research. They got banned whenever /cumg/ was hit, because janny doesn't know the difference between embedding data steganographically to hide it, and just drawing the data with a visual representation. And I understand this because another maid explained this made it too hard for janny to moderate so she just banned it. To solve this problem, Maid Card will be integrated directly into the rewrite so that janny can trivially inspect the contents from the janny tools directly. Then maids will be able to continue using /g/ to post advanced Mathematics and Computer Science research without upsetting janny. The point of Maid Card is the opposite of steganography. I want you to see the data so you read the research and run the code. I just refuse to accept the Github TOS to do this. I think this will make everybody happy because then janny has no trouble seeing what maids are doing and can focus her efforts on catching people who post content not appropriate for a Science Foundation instead of just banning any image that might have data.

Not all data is equal. Maids who want to share Number Theory experiments and coomers who want to share pornography on a blue board are not the same. Maid Research threads must return. /cumg/ must stay dead.

The phone/tablet+keyboard peripheral option is an interesting one. I guess the only downside is that you would be running Android OS so software could be limited. Mouse/touchpad support might also be awkward too, considering touch screen is the default interface.

I recently bought a backup laptop, but was briefly considering just getting an 11" netbook. You can find refurbished 11" Chromebooks on Amazon for like $50. Was thinking of getting one of those, wiping ChromeOS and installing a lightweight Linux distro. Hardware should be sufficient to run smoothly, 2.5 pounds, and has built in keyboard+touchpad. Does an 11.5" x 8" x 0.8" slab fit comfortably in a maid apron? I have no clue.

It kind of depends on the size and style of your dress. It could fit in some, but not others. Can you use it like a handheld?
