Why doesn't Arch have graphical automated install? Think of the countless hours collectively wasted of people needlessly typing genfstab and gen-locale and creating a symlink to set a timezone.

install scripts and arch "distributions" are available.
but it's a distro for mentally ill tinkertrannies anyways, they like it like that. anyone sane is on debian, fedora or ubuntu.

it's to make losers like mudasaar feel like a computer engineer when they install it instead of actually getting a degree

Arch literally comes with an install script now though? There's no reason for it to be graphical. If you can't even navigate an ASCII menu then what are you doing?

just write your own script, it's not that hard, put every step you do into a bash script and you're done

You can't feel like a cool hacker when using a graphical installer.

installing with 'archinstall' is literally easier than installing windows

Go use one that does if thats what you want. Why does everything have to be the same?

you are absolutely right, but Arch is also probably the best distribution if you are really into computers and operating systems and want to learn all about how everything works under the hood. so it's not JUST for tinkertrannies (but it is, mostly)

>learn how everything works
that's gentoo.
Arch automates its install with scripts like genfstab, archroot, pacstrap, etc.
Gentoo is the one that explains to you where everything goes, what its purpose is, and how to set it up manually.
Arch is a delusion for 2 digit iq trannies to think they're doing something cool, or that they know how linux works. Every single package in the arch repo comes preconfigured with every option/module under the sun, kernel included. So you don't have to learn how things fit together or work together. Everything is done for you, but instead of feeding you with the spoon, they asked you to type an alias on the command like first, then they fed you with the spoon. Arch kiddies don't even know their distro well enough, nevermind "how linux works"

This is why Arch lacking an installer is pure faggotry, Archfags need to stop pretending to be Gentoochads just because they install their OS with CLI, it is the same exact process as an automated installer except instead of pressing buttons you type the preconfigured installation commands instead.

It's not arch unless you symlinked your locale by hand
Anonymous No.106294553

This. The whole appeal of arch is that it's seems complicated to noobs so Arch users can feel clever, despite being too stupid to use gentoo.

archinstall works good. i don't think it does secure boot yet, but it's easy to set up with systemd.
