Why are they all doing this all at the same time across America and Europe? Are we about to go to war with China over Taiwan? The last time there was this much censorship was before the Russian invasion of Ukraine when everyone thought Russia was going to attack NATO.

If I have to sign in to view videos, then I'll just stop watching. I usually only watch for certain tutorials anyways. I prefer text to the videos, but everything decided to centralize to YT for some dumbass reason.

I have to because there's nowhere else to watch videos. Sadly nobody managed to compete with YT since its inception. I remember when it launched you still had shit like Dailymotion and Vimeo trying to compete but they never succeeded.

I'm not being forced to log in only for 18+ videos which YT flags way too easily... I watch the entire video and have 0 clue why it was 18+. I did have to upload a (fake) ID as well.

Use FreeTube and proxy your videos through invidious. I keep having the same thing mostly because I keep trying to use yt-dlp on videos.

If you're worried about subscriptions / likes / playlists / whatever, you can port that shit from your YT account over to freetube.

Videos get flagged 18+ because someone flagged it, most of them are bullshit, like a person doesn’t want to be mentioned, competitor youtube channel reports popular videos of others, etc. sometimes they do fake dcma strikes. No consequences for doing any of that.
