why the installer has to be this bad?
what if i want seperate /var and / on lvm
cant do that with setup-alpine nor setup-disk.
their wiki sucks ass
>musl
Eh, no? Musl is not usable on desktop, it just isn't, at least yet. However, for containers at work, I always use alpine. Alpine is the best for containers.
>>106295475 (OP) >nothing personal
This crew running 4coom imageboards are scum of the earth who don't even know the meme is "nothing personnel". It's called irony, and ESL does not have any connection to the community or its history to know this despite their facility with posting garbage OPs all day.

ends your distro hopping because its not good for anything other than running VMs because the main repository doesn't have any software

Conty is an archlinux executable chroot binary, I use it to run all glibc software in my minimal statically linked musl system, plus I keep all junk and shitware in it, away from my actual system.

1. Works everywhere, no exceptions. I even got it running on my POSIX sbase system, so yeah, I can run my crap literally anywhere.
2. Potentially better for privacy/security. The image has zero root perms, zero net access unless you explicitly allow it.
3. Images aren't huge and donβt need to be decompressed every time. No noticeable slowdown, my image with all the software in it wonβt even break 3GB.

And as I said earlier it enables me to run and use all glibc programs and archlinux aur packages seamlessly on my extremely suckless musl statically linked system, I literally just keep all bloat/shitware I need in that image.
>Ends distro hopping
That's only if you can't afford a good hard drive. The only thing alpine is good for is containers and IOT shit. Whether you like it or not using musl makes everything a pain.
