Anyone here like to look at old random youtube videos? I've been looking at stuff I liked ever since I started browsing in 2008, however youtube has decided to remove a bunch of stuff randomly. It pisses me off a youtube video I liked in 2010 or so can no longer be viewed because someone either mass flagged the channel and got it deleted, or it got copyright striked so much that it got deleted.

I don't even remember what I watched in 2008 when I made my account. Probably just music videos, anime videos, and anime music videos. And some weird stuff like this.

They have already announced that accounts that have been inactive for 2 years or more will be purged, newfriend, and their vids will be deleted, obviously.

The videoclip of a song called free ichkeria was like 2 months older but it seems that it got deleted.
Somehow the most obscure and old videos that i find on YouTube are weird edits or songs about countries from the Balkans and the Caucasus

Sharing a channel I found: TavixCarbine. Supposedly the videos were created in the 80s by some guy which seems to add up going off the content. I have yet to find anything about him except for the contents of this channel.

i've been rewatching pure pwnage recently, haven't seen it in ages. it surprisingly holds up really well imo. it's technically not an old youtube series however, as it predates youtube

It's weird knowing that all these old videos are on youtube but it's hard to find them since the algorithm only wants to send to you the newest slop.

I do have a bunch of bookmarked old videos, and half of them are removed for "violating terms and services" or the account just disappeared.

That's the bullshit that pisses me off so much. HISTORY is being deleted by youtube because it "broke the rules".

That's also why I started downloading all the channels I can right now. yt is ratelimiting my cookies though and its slowing me down.

When you search on Youtube, you can specify if you want to see videos from before a certain date, eg "cryptids before:01-01-2020", however it still only shows a half dozen videos before recommending current crap. The only way to find old videos seems to be, using a normal search engine and restricting it to Youtube.

1. Open https://4get.bloat.cat/
2. "cryptids site:youtube.com"
3. Set "older than" to whatever you want

I've downloaded a few channels (and random videos) too. However, if they were to be taken down, they'd just be sitting on my computer, I wouldn't know where to share them with others.

the video tab has many scrapers to pick from. bloat.cat is outdated, the official instance has Vimeo, SepiaSearch, Baidu and Coc Coc.

Alternatively you can try searching on bilibili/niconico/weibo, they have subtitled western content that sometimes isn't available on youtube anymore.

Thanks, I didn't know such a thing existed. How can they possibly afford to keep that site running? I think a better solution would be a p2p file-sharing program, but does anyone still use those?

All my youtube extension stopped working. I had shorts blocked. Anyone know the current year solution?
