The thing is, "anti AI idiots" have been proven right over and over and over again for the past 50 years.
When you've been right for half a century straight, and people who say "zomg expert systems/ocr/chess grandmaster programs/cp generators/hallucinating text predictors, agi in two weeks if we flush a few trillion dollars down it!" have been wrong every step of the way, resulting in decades-long AI winters, who the real idiots are becomes obvious.

This. Decades of "artificial intelligence" and yet none of these scams is more intelligent than the last one. Still doesn't have the common sense of a 5 year old. Still no spatial awareness. Still not character or voice recognition except under perfect conditions. Still can't pass the Turing test.
