absolutely not, using window managers like i3, awesome

sorry, I'm giving blood and I'm nervous so forgot to finish the sentence.
I was gonna say window managers like i3 and awesome were easier to use for me. Not criticizing kde, it's great but it can be overwhelming

Can you find an alternative that doesn't make your system look like a trashy children tablet with an LCD screen and no high-DPI support?
Start menu and taskbar are here to stay.

I just want a traditional desktop. Gnome is fine but not for me.

So much screenspace wasted.
KDE has a lot of nice features but it's like bringing a whole xboxhueg snap-on toolbox when all you need is a hammer and a screwdriver, so for me it's XFCE and the cute mouse mascot.

Or in other words, just use Windows. Runs everything, including Linux if you ever even need it.

Because the Windows 95 gui is one of the few things Microsoft got right and every alternative is inferior for the sake of it.

okay i wont make the usual 'krashes' argument, but stock KDE looks atrocious. GNOME is far more polished. look at that taskbar with fucking gaps on the edges and bottom.
>b-but you can customize it
yeah sure, thanks. it should be the other way around. you should be able to add the horrible gaps rather than remove them.

Drag and drop is broken. It gets the cursor stuck with whatever last icon was used. People say its a Kwin problem. Others claim wayland. I don't know. Just annoying.

I agree OP, it's the only decent one.
However, why does screen scaling not scale apps like Windows. Such a half-assed feature
