Purchasepigged a M4 macbook air and now my x64 Debian shitbox gets near-0 usage, only takes up space. Is it time to get rid of it? I do 0 gaming.

I gave Ubuntu pc with worse specs than yours to a family member after I got my M4 MBA so I could have more desk space. I just stopped gaming like two weeks before I switched anyways.

I'm trying to hang on to my M1 til security updates end, but the M4 I could get for the same price I paid nearly 5 years ago is extremely tempting; was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the Mac store the other day. Blows my M1 out of the water. If I actually needed it for what I do, I'd make the jump in a heartbeat.

Exactly why I'm stringing out my Mac purchases as long as I can. Only going to replace when absolutely vital and not just because some fancy-pants new shit came out.

Scum of the fucking earth company.

It's called mitigating a shitty situation as much as possible, even though it will always be shitty to some degree. You knew that anyway, but your life revolves around (you)s.

if you're still happy with it, don't upgrade. i still use my M1 mini and it works like day one and as long as it does that, i will keep it. there's no point in buying a new machine when you don't need the extra power when you can wayt out another two or three generations.
