>is the best linux destop environment

When I use my computer, there should be zero delay when I click something. When I open a file or a video there should be no delay. There should also be no bloat on my PC. I should have a simple music/video player like mpv and a simple image viewer and robust file manager with no delay.

That's why I won't use linux mint, It's too slow. They should really think about moving to an LXQT spin instead of XFCE.

LXQT has the best image viewer, file manager, screen grab, best text editor leafpad. It uses openbox as the WM for which just works.

And I bet you are demanding all this performance from a Celeron P6.

No I have a modern 6 core cpu, 5600X.

Cinnamon is just bloated and slow. It's probably the nemo file manager that makes the desktop feel slow but its slow trash. Also the entire desktop is bloated with apps I don't need like hypnotix and other crap.

I've decided to fully switch to arch with timeshift and vanilla LXQT.

Pretty much the only reason my old laptop is usable is because of arch w/ lxqt | Would probably use AntiX again if they just removed all the bloat and put lxqt instead

IDK but I don't want prepackaged software or bloat

All I need are these packages

Firefox, MPV, qbittorrent, Steam, Keepassxc, Corectrl. Anything else is bloat.

Arch is the only linux distro that gives a clean vanilla install. If something breaks I'll just rollback with timeshift.

in lxde you could see where your windows are in the virtual desktop switcher, you can't do that in lxqt

Lots of distros have clean versions you can build up from. It's just that fewer people are familiar with them vs arch which is famous for it.

The problem isn't XFCE, it's mint. That is why I switched from it to Artix.
