>write a comedy book mostly consisting of insane stream of consciousness rants and shaggy dog stories constructed out of bizarre references to media you liked as a child >go on the Daily Show to promote it >Jon Stewart thinks you're so funny that he has the production team start bringing you back to do a regular segment on the show >parley that into starring in the most well know series of ads ever made
John Hodgeman genuinely might be one of the luckiest people alive

I really hate how 99% of American advertising and even internet memes are like this
What's really the logic of associating something with the supposed type of person that uses it?
I prefer women logic of going out with ugly people so they look prettier in comparison, and would apply the same to tech, like: >linux is supposedly for neckbeards and obese people >so I can become the prettiest/coolest linux user
Propaganda defeated, and only sheep flock to the "best" things

Why would Apple send money on advertising to their consumer base if they're mindless drones that buy everything Apple anyway? Was Apple really scared there was about to be a big defection of their customers to Windows if they didn't have a smug hipster remind them to be loyal to the company?
