MacOS 7 is the best of the classic OS versions.

MacOS 6 is still super limited
MacOS 8 is in the PM desert
MacOS 9 is super picky about hardware

7 runs on almost anything and does almost anything. It's the perfect Mac OS.

Quicktime just worked. It was better than WMP or RealPlayer at least. Plus if you found a license key it was the best video and audio converter going for a very long time.

MS was cheap and didn't supply codecs like Apple. Apple gave you an enormous amount of codecs, you could open nearly any video or audio file even including very obscure stuff. It's still useful today for converting very very old videos into more modern formats.

I had to use MacOS 6-9 growing up, and it's a piece of shit. Fucker would Time Bomb all the time.
