If I'm using adblock and I'm not important enough to be blackmailed why should I care about the government/big tech having all my data?

I know you people care, but why? Is there some practical drawback I'm not aware of?

then you have nothing to worry about if any grandpa/granma website is requiring you to send a photo of your passport/govid, surely noone will steal your identity, why not become a namefag, just fucking shout your social security number on the balcony, you got nothing to worry about

its a disregard to respect of your privacy and autonomy
imagine if a deeply personal image of you and your childhood dog or something being used as a promotional advertising shot for pepsi without your knowledge, you have no recourse or agency and they'll be free the trample the memory of everything you hold dear because you wanted convenience

some version of that is done with your personal data to varying levels every day, so you should reduce it
