Both are fine, but I fell for the shill myself. Vivaldi has some proprietary code related to its React based (lmao) UI.

Firefox is the only meme here, which is years behind when it comes to sanboxing and isolation. Firefox's sandboxing is even weaker on Linux compared to on Windows. Gecko has weaker JIT hardening and less safe memory allocation. An engine level failure.

Where Firefox stands today is a joke. Even if you harden it yourself with your own user.js configuration it'll still be inferior to Chromium. An actual humiliation ritual.

Vivaldi. Used Opera Presto and couldn't find a new home after they turned it into a Chrome clone before Jon started working on Vivaldi circa 2015. Can't use any other browser now.

Because it's nowhere near as polished, customizable and comfy as VIvaldi, unfortunately.

brave is pseudo open sores, you can't even compile it yourself or adblock isn't gonna work
its infested with tons of spyware and crypto scams, as well as DRM cancer
vivaldi is literally fully proprietary, into the trash it goes

have you ever thought about literal remote code execution (JS) without user intervention/confirmation/approval not being such a good idea?
also cheap bait, most of the vulnerabilities come from chromium.

If you don't manually review the code and compile it yourself then you're not any more free or private. And I have zero reason to believe you do any of that and you instead grab precompiled binaries for everything like every other GNUtard freedumbz LARPer that has ever used this shitheap of a board.

Which isn't nearly as customizable as Vivaldi.

I used Vivaldi for 10 years. It is not.

Last (You) from me. Funny that you have to instigate a flame war even though I don't outright hate Floorp, but rather wish it was better than it is right now. Consider going to the gym if you're this desperate for human contact.

i manually reviewed it and compiled it myself, i can't do that with vivaldi or brave garbage, and its nearly impossible with base chromium due to how gigantic the codebase is

Look, homie, I have been using web browsers for 30+ years, and Vivaldi is a garbage .ru lolOpera clone that is ``no where near'' as good as Floorp, Chrome, Brave, Edge, or Firefox. It is the KDE Arch Linux of browsers. Enjoy this (You), my plebbit tier newfriend, I can give them to you all day if you wish.

Do you also use a pre-IME/PSP CPU? Do you also make sure that your Linux kernel doesn't run any binary blobs? Do you also make sure that your motherboard's firmware is libre with no proprietary blobs?

I was going to mention how the moment you go outside none of this means anything when everyone has a smartphone in their pocket, but you don't seem like the type of person to be concerned by sunlight either.

Vivaldi because it's the only web browser that's both modern and doesn't treat users like they're brain-damaged toddlers. If SeaMonkey could get a UI from this century we'd have two options.

Brave was made by a Catholic man who was cancelled (before it was cool) for opposing gay marriage.

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi was an ordained Catholic Priest whose music not only helped elevate the soul to God during Mass, but was also popular outside the religious services.

So the options are, chrome "reskins" with most of them not getting money from google and had features chrome does not.

Or firefox that actually gets 500 million dollars from chrome and which only selling point is the illusion of caring about privacy, that they don't, and have already demonstrated that they will sell your data if they have the opportunity while trying to hide it from its users.

Well shit , I'll jump to a third option if we get lucky and something good appears or if mozilla gives firefox to the fsf or another proper foundation once google money stops flowing.

Oh you sweet innocent summer child... Brave absolutely guts the Chromium source code and pulls patches from the Ungoogled Chromium project. It's simply a better base for a safe browser, there's a reason they abandoned their first attempt by using Gecko at its core. There's no contest honestly. Brave shields can do things that mere extensions simply can't (you can even block network requests from extensions). The mangy rotting fox can't even properly implement seccomp-bpf in Linux. You can't even trust that one tab is safe from other tabs in the same browser.

But it's just Chromium slop and therefore a botnet, right? Even though you're much more likely to be kernel exploited and turned into a bot through the inherently less secure ostensibly more private fox browser.
