The Big Windows 10 EOL Lie
I would like to take my time and inform the clueless anons about the big lie going on about the windows 10 end of life. If you go on the internet nowadays you just cant possibly not see a video or article about how windows 10 is "dying" and they go on about how your pc is going to brick if you dont upgrade. This is all a lie.

Part 1, The XP That Went Online:
There was a video on youtube a while back talking about how a windows xp computer connected to the internet will get viruses out of thin air. In the video the xp really seems like its getting viruses because it is connected to the internet. You also will see forum posts and what not telling people not to connect xp to the internet. This is all false. A computer using whichever operating system or version cannot get viruses by being connected to the internet, IF this computer is used by a normal generic person(not a corpo pc) and you dont have any ports open(not hosting a server) 99.9% of the world population fits this description. This is excluding user error(clicking virus ads, links, installing malware) So no, the viruses cant just fly into your computer. Zero day? Just who in the world would execute an extremely complicated OS attack specifically tailored to work on your pc and put weeks, months into it so he can get access to your homework folder? Nobody, the average joe is safe. This is the equivalent of fearing an israeli missile strike to your bedroom because the technology exists and was used.

Part 2, The Dying Windows Theory:
I believe that all this is not just people being misinformed, but it is a planned scenario Microsoft is pushing. 99 percent of the videos, the internet personalities talking about it, the reddit posts, the forum threads are all coordinated by Microsoft. Why? Because think about it. In the world right now, every single thing you need to do on a computer can be achieved using windows 10, and windows 10 is cracked. There are activation scripts and the iso is available everywhere, it is basically free. It is not limited by hardware, not limited by software, it can handle everything thrown at it. I am not saying this to boast about it, just that the os is capable and doesnt need to be replaced, and Microsoft does NOT like it. It wants you to buy windows 11, it wants vendors and manufacturers to buy it. Because otherwise they wouldnt make as much money as they would like. And the Windows 10 EOL fear mongering is one of the last cards they have. They will try asking you, then they will tell you it is "dangerous" not to upgrade, then they will roll out browser updates, app updates that mandate you have to use windows 11(think how steam doesnt work on windows 7 anymore, even tho it is perfectly capable to do so.) And most people will give up and upgrade at one of these steps(Replacing the turn off button with update and turn off is enough to fool 99 percent of the population). And years will pass and you wont realize when but one day you will wake up, turn on your newly upgraded pc and be fine with it. Until then, Be Aware.

False. There are multiple vulnerabilities in XP that enable zero click attacks. They're not zero days, they're old documented vulnerabilities that haven't been patched.
>>106316547
microsoft doesn't care about windows sales afaik. At this point most of their revenue comes from subscriptions and cloud shit.

>There are multiple vulnerabilities in XP that enable zero click attacks. They're not zero days, they're old documented vulnerabilities that haven't been patched.
True. However the faggot that made that clickbait "Windows XP on the internet in 2025" video, connected XP directly to the internet in bridged mode without any router (public ip address directly linked to the OS network interface), obviously his ISP was giving an unique ip address and not using CGNAT, and on top of that he even disabled the built-in XP firewall so all ports were fully accessible.
It was the computer equivalent of leaving your car parked in the ghetto with all doors and windows open, keys in the ignition, and a "please take me for a joyride" sticker.
I'd really like to see someone try the same with a fully up to date Windows 11 PC and see how long it will last.
I wouldn't use a Windows XP machine to access my banking or crypto wallets, but as long as you get it on the internet normally (behind a firewalled router, built-in firewall enabled for incoming connections), use an up-to-date browser like Supermium and common sense, it's relatively safe.

it's literally 100% automated bots that use pre packaged exploits.

I can agree with that, but a modern OS will obviously be safer. Windows 11 will probably hold up just fine without a firewall, barring the rare zero day which will get patched quickly.

I think you are confusing zero click exploits with basic port scanning bots.
>I can agree with that, but a modern OS will obviously be safer.
Thats what i have been saying. Behind the router and firewall as in the average persons network, its safe.

WOW the redpill!!!
Everything gets replaced eventually because the new products come with the new software, people don't mess with their programs even less with their OS
Consoomers are idiots, and international companies will keep abusing them
Try to fix that

given that i last updated windows in 2019, i agree with you, but the problem is that normies do not even have adblockers installed, let alone even know that harry_potter.exe is not a movie. And lets be honest, its all a bit of a conspiracy by the big companies: adblocks essentially remove the need for updating a pc as any browser that you visit will no longer load random .js files in ads and these .js files cannot abuse some vulnerabilities to remote execute code on your system: adblockers are the best anti virus... but i wonder who could be the biggest hater of adblockers.... ah yea the glowies known as Google.

with torrents, it is easy to check if old torrents containing software are legit or nor and torrents about movies just have to be the right format.... its dead easy.

really a Windows 7 given software and driver support is as good as Windows 10, or 11 in 2025..... but of course driver support will start to lack with time. this is another problem.

Really it is normies that just do what they are told without even knowing why that are the biggest problem with tech: they even still hacked regardless if they update or not. You are correct in all your points, but for as long as the idiot normies just do what they are told and watch the ads and believe that voting is going to solve their problems, its useless.

As a slav I too believed that Windows is free as all products by Microsoft, Google... all of it is free as I have never ever paid a westoid company a single cent in my life and I used Windows for 30 years.... and then I went to the UK: 90% of these wordless wanna be indians pay for Windows. While you and I may know a thing or two about tech , please allow me to introduce to you subhumans like the UK, who are finally getting banned from the rest of internet.

Hey retard, all windows and most Linux systems have ports open that may accept source internet.
Windows xp will 100 be infected within minutes if the bots are still scanning for it unless it's firewalled or prevented from receiving connections using NAT. Nobody uses it anymore but you absolutely need to prevent incoming connections with something if the bots are still running.

I would be fine running Windows 7 into perpetuity but the problem comes from the world around me leaving it behind, web browsers and various programs and such eventually updating to the point where the OS becomes worthless for anything other than just locally listening to music or playing videos or whatever else.

No anon, there are vulnerabilities that require no user interaction whatsoever, and given how well documented they are at this point they're easy to automate. I don't know what's so hard to believe here.

There are already web browsers like supermium which are specifically made for older Windows versions and gog.com seems to go out of its way to make games available that run on as many versions of Windows as possible. As Windows gets more and more shitty there will be more enthusiasts providing solutions to keep older windows releases viable. You literally have everything you need to keep using Windows 7 forever right now.

It's a lie to an extend. You will be able to use Windows 10 normally after october. If you're on LTCS you can use it up until 2030.
But it's Miscrosoft we're talking about here. Microsoft ran by pajeets to be precise. They can simply drop support for newer software at any moment, like they did to Windows 7. They have every money, power and leverage to do so, it's just a matter of time before browsers, Steam and other essential software stops working on Windows 10.
Do yourself a favor and switch to Linux, or better yet buy a Mac.
Pajeetsoft is doomed, just look what they are planning to do with the next Windows.

Mental illness. Windows 10 actually ran better, was less bloated and fixed many issues Windows 7 had, there are tons of tests online showing that it's actually more performative on older hardware than Windows 7, because of the new kernel.
Using obscure browsers is a serious privacy concern, your PC will literally stand out among millions of users and be easily traceable. Go figure.
As for games, might as well use Linux, since kernel anticheats are also not an option for Windows 7 and older games run way better due to Vulkan layering (no low resolution problems, even a 320x240 game will just stretch to fullscreen and look good on a 4K monitor thanks to various Proton flags).

Using "regular" chrome is as bad or if not worse. It fucking calls home and you can't change it like in firefox with flags. The only good browser is hardened firefox ESR (because it's easier too keep up with their retarded new features to disable). Most things like that port scanning people talk about in this thread doesn't even work on hardened firefox, but even without hardening there is some extension to block port scanning if someone doesn't want browser that is too strict and still care about security.

You can tell it's bullshit when Firefox has an unprompted "are you migrating from Windows 10" when you open it. No, Windows, I won't be migrating to Windows 11.
