being on tor does not preclude you from jeet hordes who watched a youtube video on how to open a test PR on your ebin hacker tor-only imageboard.

the modern internet is better in greater ways than it had turned for the worse. discussion is better, production values are better, things are more high effort and less of a waste of your time. and all you have to do is not get stuck in the discord et al tarpit of normalfaggotry.
in contrast the old internet only had retarded, primitive lolrandumb "memes" and people to turn them into amateur art and inane webcomics. everyone moved without purpose, the internet was junk food no different from mass produced sitcoms and reality shows.
flash games were trash even if they were free, and a complete waste of time next to the indie scene today. not a coincidence that their direct descendants were web-based idle/incrementals which everyone identifies today as mobile trash.
the only thing people of the past had was otaku anime and /pol/, and I doubt you had been able to appreciate them as they were.
the point is the influx of normalfags made the ratio of trash online look larger than it had been before, even as the absolute amount of quality product is much higher today, which means the median quality of what I consume in my finite time can be much higher today.
