But you have to pay Apple to notarize and compile for ARM.

a) you don't have to use macOS to develop for macOS - you may use it to develop linux (server) software
b) if you have an actual profitable product than it's not a big deal

It's handy if you want to avoid Windows 11 bloat/spyware and likely increasing AI slop; and don't want to give money to one of the most evil corporations on the planet (Apple).

Same use case as org charts or class hierarchies. Extending your pool of developers to include more people.

I use it for programming, but ChromeOS is a fork of Gentoo Linux. This makes Linux the most popular kernel used in education now.
>Chrome OS holds a dominant position in the K-12 education market, particularly in the United States. In the United States, Chromebooks account for 73% of all device deployments in academic institutions, driven by government-backed digital learning initiatives and a strong preference for the platform's simplicity, ease of IT manageability, and low price point.

Mac is for creatives. You'll waste a lot of time/money/frustration trying to be a programmer on a Mac. Macs are, in fact, a key reason why so many of you failed to "learn to code." It's just the wrong tool for the job.

While you are generally correct, Linux doesn't necesarily mean privacy. Again, ChromeOS uses Linux, but it is one of the most botnet things you can buy.

>Standby still bullshit on anything but CachyOS.
>Bad Compatibility with quirky LAN/Wireless Cards (Particularly Broadcom)
>No Standardized Applications/Programs
>Still no good Media Player

Linux is a good Kernel, but people need a consistent interface, programs that actually work and not just passion projects, and hardware support that's not based on whether a person is willing to write drivers for them.

>can't afford mac
It's a laptop, not a mansion. Anyone could afford one. In fact they're such a poor people brand that their users actually calculate the amount they're going to get back when selling them used. It's such a big deal for them. Meanwhile other people just throw the old laptop in the back of the closet or give it away to a family member or something. I've never heard anyone but a macfag talk about how much the cost is going to be for using it if you can get this much money out of it afterwards.
