Why do people use desktop icons? They're so tacky looking, also you can add folders to the Start menu now.

I just like things organized.
>>106326852
Do you at least nest files inside folders?
>>106326884
Sure.

Well, I don't like having a messy desk irl either. In school I'd store stuff in the tray under my desk until I needed it.

You can have something ON your desktop and still keep it organised, the point is having ready at hand the stuff you're working on.
>In school I'd store stuff in the tray under my desk until i needed it.
Makes sense because that's your school's not yours.

yeah, I don't understand either, I see my desktop for about 5 seconds a day when I boot the computer, I don't even have a wallpaper because I never fucking see it so why would it matter.
if you want to start a software just hit the win/super/ key on your keyboard and tap the first letters of your software then enter, much easier, faster and less harmfull for your wrist than using the shitty and unreliable mouse.

No idea. But there's nothing worse than a retarded wallpaper with so much detail you can't even tell the icons sitting on top.

WIndows has been able to use the taskbar as a launcher (Meta + 1/2/3/4... to launch whatever application you have pinned there) for 17 years.
